The Goon Thread - Officially Second In A One Horse Race

Agreed, he might be out of reach for them at the moment. What they need is probably a former player, to get the fans back onside, and preferably a defender. Also, someone who is free at the minute, so they don't have to pay a fee, someone with experience managing English teams at some level and someone who has expressed the fact that he hasn't gotten the opportunities which he feels he deserves. Any suggestions?
Also someone who is one of the greatest minds in football. That's exactly what they need.

No one sucks off Arsenal quite like The Arseletic. By a long way, the most sycophantic coverage I've ever read. They had Arsenal Agony Aunt Amy Lawrence on their writing roster for a while, though I haven't seen anything from her lately.

Worse, though, is that they've put in lifelong, hard-core gooner Charlie Eccleshare as the Spurs beat writer. Never misses a chance to invite Spurs fans to defecate on their own club. They excused it when I enquired by saying that his editors are both Spurs supporters who would keep close tabs to ensure he didn't cross lines. I got banned from commenting there when I complained about Eccleshare's crafty piszstakes. Gutless wimps.
Long may the press coverage of Arteta continue to be sympathetic! For what its worth, I quite like Amy Lawrence's style of writing, shame she has been lost to the other side but I find her pieces quite entertaining

It's pretty common place for supporters of different clubs to be writers for other teams, I know someone who works for a well known football website who is the editor of three teams, one of which he supports and one is a team he can't stand!

Conte would take it IMO, there are funds there, he’d want to spend it differently to their regular MO though, which will put them off, as long as they trust the process.

Conte wouldn't touch that with a fudging pole mate.

They have spent £130M which he probably will agree with very little of, they don't have another £200M-£300M to spend, they have a ton of deadwood to get rid of and the gap to City/Chelsea/United in terms of squad quality is insane.

Conte wants to win the PL, not to challenge for top 4 and he isn't going to risk his reputation on a club that has been in a downspin for 7+ years.

@JerusalemMan wait till you see this one (on top of the Amazon special being filmed this season)

Ozil’s sources say⁧‬⁩ there are advanced talks with international production companies regarding a documentary dealing with what happened behind scenes in his last years with Arsenal and reviews the player and his team's account of the events that ended with his exit from the club.

I saw that higher up the thread, got to hope it's true.
My manager is an Arsenal fan and he's in despair. Saying it's an absolute tyre fire

Exactly he turned us down and we are in a better position.

They do not have anyone to sell for big money. I like Saka but he is a 40m player at most.

Lots of rumours on twitter about 2 of their players being caught being friendly with each other in the dressing room after training

Willian decided to tear up his contract rather than suck every last penny out of them. Just because he wasn't happy with the project and wanted to play for his boyhood club in Brazil. What's wrong with him?

More like anything to get away from that fudging train wreck

£131M spent, more than anyone else and kept Arteta in charge, hilarious ..

The Gunners are beginning to regret the £72m signing of Nicolas Pepe, 26, from Lille in 2019 after the Ivory Coast international's disappointing start to the season. (Mirror)

and I bet he doesn't !!!

Arsenal's Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard, 22, who signed for the club from Real Madrid this summer, says he does not like seeing Amazon's cameras around the club. The Gunners are the latest team to be the subject of an All or Nothing documentary. (Mail)

International break, 0 points, 0 goals, just spent a shed load of money to support the a manager whose vision seems more of a hallucination than even a dream at this point.

Just to rub it in we're at close to having the opposite start to the season as one can get.

The fumes of the dumpster fire somehow transformed to the smell of a delightful Portuguese wine as it crosses North London.
