Serge Aurier

Yeah, I feel like he’s been involved in a lot of our goals.

Yes there have been fudge ups, but not that many, probably no more than we saw from Tripps or Walker before him.

Good luck to him.
He has been involved in goals
But the man found wanting when it came to defending
I remember him at United away in the 6-1
I also remember him vs Leicester at home head butting the back of a player going’s way from the goal in about as threatening a position as sissoko bearing down on goal
The guy is a stupid player with some ability

Is this the first time we’ve ever done this? We’ve had a few not play at all in their final year but this is the first time I can recall a mutual termination?

I can't recall, as I said, seems we are looking at things differently now, took the offers on the table for Toby, Sissoko, mugged someone for Hart, used Lamela to get a promising talent and just got out of bad situation (probably at a loss, although be interesting to compare what we think we would have got vs. a year salary +brick like loyalty bonuses)

Can't recall it and if Levy is missing out on a few million it must've been bad with him. Maybe Paratici's influence as well?

I think Paratici, and perhaps as I said above, an attempt to fix the team environment (key reason for the refresh/rebuild)

Yeah I’m wondering if Serge offered the buy out knowing he wasn’t going to play for a year or we proposed it as he wasn’t budging on accepting a move he didn’t want knowing he could earn more as a free agent.

Bentley maybe?
Him and Gomes are the two that stood out for me as not having deals done when they were obviously surplus to requirements. Although I guess Gomes could have sat tight on the wages knowing he had a few years left and Bentley was planning to retire in his last year so had little incentive to take an offer to free him up earlier.

I'm glad he played for us, I enjoyed a lot of his time on the pitch and I salute his personal fortitude and professionalism that was on display at the time of his brother's death.
Not quite the player we hoped for or needed, but not the liability so lazily caricatured as by snipers from without.

Bentley maybe?

We really need someone to look at the mentality of players before we buy them.

Remember watching draft day with kevin costner. I know it's a film but he wouldn't sign a player because none of his team mates turned up to the players birthday party in college. We need that sort of investigation.

Ffs we all read the stories of how ndombele was fat and lazy as a kid. Why can't our recruitment team do proper background checks?
