Lautaro Martinez

I’ll put in here but I think we will end up with Martinez and Traore

and play a 4-4-2 with son and Traore wide
Kane and Martinez central

Longer he goes without signing that new contract the more I think it will happen, but then again I saw stories from yesterday that they're still in talks.

Seems odd we've gone from being linked to all the strikers to all the wingers now.

I agree
It reminds me of when we sold bale
Loads of stories of him being happy.
we then brought players in, in advance…. Then sold him

You think we have the funds to do both those deals without selling Kane?

To the extent that there was truth in these rumours in the first place I think those expensive striker links was seen more as potential Kane replacements.

A week left of the window and Kane is still here, so we're looking at other areas to strengthen.

We’re in profit so far so yeah I do
I think Traore could be a pain to buy on the never never (how they sold Jota) and Martinez is money down this window and payment plan
But I’m playing FM here don’t forget

Profit, but we've committed on Romero for the future. Even if deals can be made as loans with obligations to buy that money will have to be paid.

Can we put ourselves in a situation where we're committed to paying big sums for several players over the coming years with no completed incoming fees to offset that?

Whatever happens this season chances are we'll need to do some business next summer too. Starting next summer way in the red to the tune of somewhere north of £80-100m+? Someone needs to check on Levy if we do that.

If we find that illusive buying (loan+obligation) club for Ndombele, Sanchez and/or Winks that might be enough?

We're not in profit. Loans aren't free. We haven't spent that much though.

I think it’s exactly what we’re doing
Wouldn’t be surprised to see if we have some new Covid income insurance in place too now (like Wimbledon had)
The club can hedge it’s stadium income this season and because our wages were always sensible we may well have the ability to commit more money than people realise
We did some deals like this last season too when everyone expected us to spend NO money

We are in profit
The reported money we have brought in is greater than money we have reportedly spent to date
Happy for someone to show me more details of the clubs finances that none do us have access too.

The deals we did last summer were reportedly also heavily weighted towards future payments.

Hey, if Levy thinks it's financially viable I won't argue or complain. Would surprise me is all.

Yep
And of course who did we actually end up buying last summer
Rodon
Doherty
Reggie
Hojbjerg
Anyone else?
The Reggie deal was reasonable big money

We haven’t took the Edwards deal
And whilst I don’t agree with you around the loan fees there has been nothing reported anywhere on them
Most reported the Romero deal as a straight transfer at the time too
You forget Lamela out too
