UNO - the card game

Lots of our players seem to love it. Bought it to play with my 6 year old (!) son - and he loves it. But how can grown-up men play this garbage for hours on end and even compete with it? It's a ridiculous excuse for a game - 90% luck/randomness. Gets boring after about 5 minutes. :p

Have been playing it with my kids since they were three, and it was great fun until they started to beat me for real. The other day my youngest (4,5) beat me seven times in a row and he still hasn't stopped gloating about it.

Seven times in a row?!! Whaaat? How on earth do you withstand the boredom of playing seven bloody games on the trot? We just played one game, took maybe 20 mins - I found it hard to pay attention in the end, haha. :p

"it's luck" always the trope from someone who doesnt win :D

It''s not pure luck! gotta play the cards at the right time!

Didn't the Dutch boys sometimes play settlers of catan

The San Antonio Spurs NBA champions of '99 used to play Starcraft together! :)

It's not pure luck, of course, but the cards more or less play themselves, there's a tiny pool of possibilities at any given time. :p

I didn't enjoy the full hour and a half of playing, TBH, but being slightly hungover from the night before, it was a much better alternative than running around with a noisy kid. :D

Feel you pain man, one of the worst things i ever did was introduce my daughter to Monopoly!!. She loved it and wanted to play it everyday, we had to buy her a electronic one so we could get a break.
