Daniel Levy - Chairman

It is starting to look more and more like we are financially screwed and the new manager will be expected to operate at a significant transfer loss.

The candidates seem to be getting less and less prestigious, with the most important thing now being that they don't have high wage demands and they are out of work so do not require any compensation to be paid.

Other clubs are already making bids for players and trying to improve their squads. Maybe it doesn't matter anyway if we're completely broke but we should be using this time for the DoF and manager to identify the players that we want to keep, sell and buy. Sacking Jose well before hte end of the season we should not be halfway through June still managerless.

We can’t help what people ‘report’ unless we issued a denial for every story. This stuff doesn’t matter, it’s who and what we end up with.
*If it is Gattuso I honestly cannot even see the most patient, optimistic, pro ENIC Spurs fan giving an argument as to why this isn’t a massive clusterfudge of a decision that reaked of intentional negligence.
I was trying to think of anything positive about him
He has a good beard
He was good in superman 2
Beyond that I’m struggling
This feels like a really, really low appointment
I’d prefer pretty much anyone else

Oh I'm sure 1 or 2 on here will certainly try. [emoji102]

Maybe this is Levy's dastardly plan to get us more social media followers?.... On that page I was looking at earlier showing live number of twitter followers for football teams our number seems to be growing faster these past few hours... Isn't the saying that 'there is no such thing as bad publicity' or something like that?!? :D

It would be great if we unveiled someone reputable that hadn’t been seriously linked and Levy states during the unveiling that all the journos repeating false links as ‘nearly done deals’ or the inner details of conversations was just an exercise by the club to show how unreliable any information not published by the club is and each story released has flushed out the leaks within the club. Bit like Rooney and Vardy’s Mrs.

Well, my optimism us being sorely tested. I have never underestimated his ability to fudge up football matters, but this would be a new level.

Forget the sexist, racist troll for a moment. This is NOT how to do business!
Even if you throw your eggs in the DoF basket (which we wanted) why did they not determine this was a possibility? Why get to the brink of hiring a man - who went on holiday FFS- only to ditch him? Football circles are tight, this adds to other awful behaviours. And WHY are we potentially giving in to Mendes again?
Worst of all, this bloke could be the greatest ever but he has repeatedly crossed the line and had his hands on a staff members throat? Shambolic doesn't begin to cover it.

I imagine you think Burkinshaw actually said that.

The journo at the time who was with him mentioned it in respect of a quote which came from the US about the Dodgers moving from East to West. Burkinshaw nodded in agreement as the content was relayed, and comparison made to that current situation (remember, Burky had already signaled he'd resign after the UEFA)...he did not technically say it, but he certainly lived and breathed the sentiment.

Is there any actual proof any of this is happening?

Quotes from Levy/Paratici/Fonseca/Gattuso.

Quotes? Are you insane?

Why would any of them give quotes?

What managerial appointment was ever preceded by quotes in the media?

Yes it's happening. Every Tottenham club journo is reporting it. When a story breaks from a real football journalist, the likes of Gold and Kilpatrick WhatsApp Tottenham's press officer asking is this true, what can you give us etc? Then they are given the PR version from the club and write it up.

Let me break it to you bucko, Gold is not a proper journalist and if it were printed on newsprint, that Football London site wouldn't even be classified as fish wrap. Cruelty to a dead animal an' all that.

So what do you think then? Is he being fed lies? Is he making up lies? You're a press photog thus have decades in the business. I am a writer and also have decades in the business. I know what I think and further, I know where I think it's coming from...which, for me, is the worst bit. We have lost the (admittedly delicate in this era) art of description vs thinking every single fart is a potential PR moment.

He’s not winning a Pulitzer any time soon but in this niche world of Spurs, he is quite obviously connected. He gets to ask the manager questions every week. By that measure alone he is a proper journalist.
