The Cricket Thread

Test cricket doesnt matter the real games is hit and run just like I played in our street in the 50s, scrap the wicket use a lampost or chalk a wicket on a wall, out if you hit the ball into the pubs backyard. The only thing that's worse than Englands batting is the commentators.

Bloody hell, when did Ravi Bopara sign for Sussex? I thought he was doing the twenty20 world tour and the new hundred tournament, didn’t think he’d be turning up against Essex tonight!!!

Email received this evening to say our tickets for Middlesex v Essex next week have been cancelled due to the non-lifting of restrictions and therefore capacity limitations. It's the third failed attempt to watch cricket at Lords (one weather, covid last year, plus now this year) (well, failed for Mr GL - I've been before), plus covid stopped us watching England in Sri Lanka last year. We've still got tickets for England v India in August, so fingers crossed things will a) be back to normal by then; and b) the weather holds out.

I hope you get to go, despite all the developments I still love going to Lords even to test matches.

I'm meant to be at Trent Bridge on the 6th and 7th August and Lords on the 13th for the Indian test matches
I will be slightly miffed if these don't go ahead

Watching the Indians bat is like watching a different game compared to the English batsmen
