Tanguy Ndombele

It’s possible that Tanguys fitness may have been fine for Jose ball but not up the level mason wants now
Possible. But not really a reason to not bring him on as a sub?
His output is erratic and is slowing our attacking game down.
A plausible criticism, but he's also a brilliant player and playing in a better functioning team I think he could be very effective.

Between him and Lamela who would you back to create another goal against Sheffield United with 15ish minutes left to play?

I'm not sure Tanguy is a good fit for our team setup. Ndom plays too deep and overcomplicates.
Lamela is too mercurial and blows hot&cold so Lucas's work rate gives him the nod just over Eric.

Maybe we are now looking to sell as we could still get alot of money for him to bring in a better fit like Sabitzer?
Doubt that decision would have been made at this point, surely our new manager would have to be involved?

Don't think it would influence Mason's decision making much either way.

I’d say not.

It’s not just running with Ndombele for me, it’s also decision making, beating 2 men to win a free kick in the centre circle is counter productive if you are trying to break a team down. I really want is to tap into his potential but starting to get concerned that he’s not going to fulfil it.

I was looking to see if he would be observing Ramadan and found this article and there have been question marks about his application before.

If he is (observing Ramadan), easy to see how his training (Affects selection) and game could be off ..

I think he got over the application hump after his first year with Jose, pre thinking about fasting I had just thought he had run himself into the ground.

That is my concern to be honest, i do not think having Lo Celso and Tanguy in the same M/F works well. Of course this may change next season.

I thought he had a really good game yesterday, at least until he was badly fouled. Early days for him as he is still trying to get back to fitness after injury.

He made himself available a lot (same thing everyone is raving on Dele for doing), thought his game dropped off after the head stamp as well (not surprising), Mason should have probably made the same quicker.

I think Ndombele is about where Dembele was when Poch arrived. Massively talented, but with that same flaw of not releasing the ball. So while he's not there yet, one season of proper coaching and I think he will really explode onto the scene

I think Lo Celso just needs a run of games to shake off some rust. I do think both will come good

I don't think NDombele has what it takes to succeed in the PL. Really hope he proves me wrong but I just don't see a position he can play effectively and every time he is touched he goes down like a little wuss. Infuriating player.

So Mason came out yesterday and said he had a knock last week and only trained on the day before the game.

It's definitely Ramadan related isn't it and he doesn't want to reveal it in case the gammon go for him.

Gammon and Ramadan don't mix

Maybe he's been put on annual leave.

(Why is it definitely Ramadan related?)

I'm expecting him to be the first to jump ship and most likely to be the one who refuses to play. Mind you there'll be a few. Clubs a miserable Place for supposed winners. Hope I'm wrong. Hope we find another investor to join Enic at the very least and make a huge surge forward :(
