Transfer rumours - summer 2021 edition

There's a lot of players who can play CF or out wide or off a CF. If you look at the top teams:
- Rashford or Greenwood
- Sterling
- Werner
- Iheanacho and Perez at Leicester dont always play as a proper CF

...even at teams beyond the proper top 6, Mikel Antonio....Lacazette and Aubamayeng play in other roles sometimes

Not an easy problem to solve mind you....
Marega at Porto can play as a number 9, number 10 or number 7 and is on a free transfer this summer.

Do you think any of them will come here????.

Donnarumma is 22, free and his salary demands are less than £10 mil, according to reports. Are we really not interested enough to make a bid? You know the job interview: We want a young man with senior level knowledge? That's him. Free, isn't that the correct price of world class players according to Levy? I thought he would be all over th.is.

That's £200k a week

How much we save letting go bale, Hart, Vinicius and Gedson. Not to mention rose and Sissoko.
If he's the right player the wages can be found. We're not in a position to faff about anymore.
Not that I'm saying this is the right guy, but the principle is right.

And that might be his after-tax expectations, coming from a low tax country like Italy

But sometimes other top players (in our case probably Kane, Lloris, Son) have clauses in their contract that their salary automatically track the club's highest earner. So suddenly there are other ramifications. Bale will be different because we are only paying a fraction of his.

At least those three are useful first team players, the ones I'm talking about are barely squad players.
Waste of money, money that is badly needed elsewhere.

I don't think us being interested or not would have any bearing on this one. He is one of the hottest property free transfers out there. I suspect far bigger boys than us will be licking their fingers and slicking their eyebrows before talking to him.

Yes, typically in Italy wages are talked about post tax.

Those clauses are very, very rare indeed. I would seriously doubt we have them at our club.

My Dad had a good story about (I think it was) Arshavin at Arsenal. A few months after signing for them he wanted to meet with the club as he said they were not paying all of his wages. When he agreed his deal he didn't realise that the wage offer was gross and he'd lose a bundle of it in tax.

My understanding was that his demands were making Juve baulk, which puts him out of our price range. His agent is Raiola, so that sounds likely.
I’ve heard that juve want to bin off Ramsey to get him in on a like for like basis salary wise

Lol Donnarumma is courted for teams that want to win things and have ambitions for that ... why would he come here for less wages and to stick it out with levy who will own him for life
