Next Manager?

My understanding is the is a sort of cultural expectation that people will help out their family and villages/hometown when they emigrate to Europe. I have also seen similar in bbc news articles over the years. If it is well known that immigrants from less economically developed countries send money home is it such a stretch to think people that stood to gain money from a transfer would be keen for it to happen.

I don't see what's racist about it. You could say that it's a stereotype but that doesn't mean it's necessarily wrong. For instance, a lot of people think Croatians are simply more clever and more talented and, well, I've never seen an example of the contrary, if I do say so myself :D

On a more serious note, most Poles I've met in France send their money back to their wives back home (who probably have torrid sex with the mailmen in the meantime but that's another story). Who cares? If I were a manager, I might even say something like that in public, that doesn't mean I have anything against people from Poland. It's probably not the most clever thing to say but I'm entitled to my opinions (particularly harmless ones like that). And if some people in Poland or elsewhere are offended, well... that's too bad. I've been offended all my life and I've managed not to kill myself so I'm sure they can deal with it.

Hardly a negative imo. Quite the opposite :D

I think that's debatable, as some people aren't really good at it but I'm afraid I don't know her that well. Unfortunately, she's also a singer and boy, does she suck. Her songs always sound like something from a telenovela (although I'll admit I'm more of a punk-rock/punk-folk/weird stuff kinda guy myself so doubt I'm her target audience). Still, she's not fit (in every meaning of the word, this time) to lace Severina's boots. And if you look them up on Youtube, don't come back complaining your ears are bleeding!

For me Gasperini would be the number 1 choice ahead of everybody that was mentioned, including Nagelsmann. I will not get to excited though because I am a Spurs fan, so I know better. Hope... that's how they get you.

Don't know anything about Gasperini, but his wiki reads very well. The last part about conceding seems especially apt for Spurs!

Tactically, Gasperini is known for using a fluid 3–4–3 formation and a spectacular high-risk hyper-offensive-minded possession-based system, which relies on the versatility of his midfielders and front line. His team's playing style places more focus on scoring goals, off-the-ball movement and quick, short passes on the ground, and less focus on long balls and the defensive aspect of the game. As such, at times his trademark 3–4–3 system resembles a 3–4–1–2, 3–2–4–1, 3–5–2, or 3–4–2–1 formation, with energetic overlapping attacking wing-backs in lieu of wide midfielders, that provide width along the flanks and push up the pitch when going forward. He has also been known to use a 4–3–3 on occasion. His teams are known for playing a high defensive line and for being very compact defensively, with little distance between the attack and the defence. During the 1990s, Gasperini's tactical philosophy and teams' playing styles was inspired by Dutch football, namely Louis van Gaal's Ajax side, rather than Arrigo Sacchi's 4–4–2 system.

When defending off the ball, his teams are also known for the use of heavy pressing, but also apply elements of fluid man-marking across the entire pitch and often switch to a 5–4–1 formation defensively. Gasperini favours using hard-working and highly physical two-way players in midfield rather than a deep-lying playmaker, but also quick, talented, technical, diminutive, slender, elusive, and creative players upfront, in order to implement his system effectively; he has also been known to use a larger and more physical centre-forward upfront on occasion, who is good in the air. Despite the acclaim he has garnered due to his offensive playing style, which has led him to obtain successful results with smaller teams, he has also drawn criticism for his unbalanced approach, and for his team's tendency to concede goals as well as scoring them. As such, certain pundits have questioned whether his system would be equally effective with larger teams.

3-4-3...

Sell Aurier, sign Aarons. Doherty in his favoured wing back role. Reguillon and Sess on the other side. Davies as left sided CB. Dier back in a 3 where he’s good. Hoijberg a two way player in midfield. Dele back in a 2 behind the 1.

Damn...almost would feel like Levy’s DOF plan has come together pretty darn well!

People look at me like I'm talking sideways when I say I'd like to see Davies on the left of a 3 at the back. Glad I'm not the only one!

Davies in a back three, in anything but emergencies, is a disaster waiting to happen, particularly, if Dier is in the middle. They'll get targeted with high balls from the right and late runs to the far post because neither of them is good in the air.

The plan unravels when you realize that would mean Dier, Doherty and Davies are all still at the club, bringing our squad down to roughly Championship level in terms of ability when you include Sanchez, Sissoko and Winks crapping up the place. :p

Nah, toss 'em for me. Think three at the back can be tried, but not with the dire personnel we have.

Davies and Dier in a back 3?.... Seems you don't actually want to win many games then?
