Tanguy Ndombele

I'd love to see what he can do in a team that has a proper attacking plan/philosophy/structure. The Special Gone is well known for not having one of those and Mason has had them for two days and has managed exactly one senior match. Let's see what happens with a new manager and players making runs he can have as choices to make.
Not just him mate, Bale, Kane , Son, Lo Celso Lamela Moura Dele etc. There are so many managers who would love to have these options. We should be one of the most potent attacking teams in Europe.

But our defending needs a lot of work
And we also need players to recognise they need to gamble with their runs

That is kind of the problem though, whenever he receives the ball he wants to beat a man. But to do that he slows down our play massively, he receives it, stops, tries his trick and a lot of the time doesn’t really go anywhere and ends up playing a sidewards pass. Part of the reason why I’d prefer he was playing higher up the pitch where he could just do his trick and get his shot away, he’s actually proven he has a good long range shot on him.....

I'd play him in front of Peh and Glc, one to protect the CBs and one fetch for him,
and behind son and Kane.
Reggie and aurier either side bombing on would still leave us an option of bale, Moura, Stevie, dele, Lamela or even vinny.
Genius, brave or stupid, I'll let you take your pick.

Bit off form at the moment, that will happen and the form will come back.

If we can improve the overall way we play out from the back and through pressure he will get into more and better positions to use his skill to break that press.

I think he will be absolutely immense.

Both Ndombele and Lo Celso looked better in second half. Both were higher up the pitch.
From the limited time I've seen them play together I dont think it works, both like to control our play and at times exclude the other, Ndombele seems to be more dynamic and passes forward quicker added to his ability to break the line he looks a better player to me.

He's been off form for a bit, really hope he get's it together for Sunday

I would also play him as the number 10.... the problem is that Lo Celso looks equally ill equipped to play in the deeper role. I think we need a big, physical, dominant player that can pass and dribble (I know I'm asking for a lot) to play alongside Hojbjerg. I've said enough times to bore you lot I'm sure but Soumare from Lille would be perfect for us. Ndombele can then play ahead of Hojbjerg and Soumare and we can start to dominate the midfield and get an incredibly creative player on the ball in the right area of the pitch where his dribbling and creative passing will make a difference.

Lo Celso is then cover Ndombele (though I think he is likely to be a bit of step down).

I think Lo Celso is also a class act although a different kind of player to Ndombele. He just needs a run of games to get last season’s form back.

He doesn't show for the ball enough.
I don't know if this is he doesnt know how to, or he doesn't want the ball, or doesn't feel like a senior enough player to demand the ball.

Obviously his off the ball positioning defensively isn't great

His dwelling on the ball and not releasing it quickly, I can put down to the lack of training of attacking patterns within the team for the last 18 months.
