Jose Mourinho - SACKED

what has Dele done to walk straight back in to the team?

as head of development one would assume Mason has been at the training sessions, or at least has access to the data from them

I don't think we'll see too many changes

Not been part of the shambles we've endured for most of the season?

I don't think anyone 'walks back in" and if he does get included it would suggest that he was being kept out because of a clash of personalities rather than all that guff about not suiting the way we play.

I don't think Jose would have shown his cards for this game against Everton anyway. More likely to use it a misdirection than anything else.

But he's been chopping and changing non stop for months especially with defenders. You can't build a cohesive unit like that and to play Mourinho-ball you need some stability. That's why I think a "Mourinho masterclass" was impossible for next Sunday.

The hope is, as someone else posted, some sort of dead cat bounce where the players feel the shackles are off. Ndombele, Alli, Bale can all play their games and have something to prove. Problem is, we're still brick at the back.

A front 5 of Kane, Sonny, Bale, Alli and Ndombele with ropey midfielders and defenders behind them. Haven't I seen this picture before somewhere?

true, although what we see in matches isn't necessarily what is being worked on in training, I don't think there was any chance of us using a back 3 against City for example

The hope would be exactly that

- Shackles off, players play their natural game, their instinctive game and take it to City

Mentally it's percentages, City has to be looking at PSG midweek, can we just want this one more than them?

Had a lot of time for Jose, but this was inevitable knowing what we know so well about DL - not afraid to make incredibly difficult decisions. We'll be freer now. Could be headless chickens, but I'd rather have that than the dreadful football we've been seeing. Onwards, mighty Spurs!

Surely it’s seen as a positive if we have players in the squad that don’t suit the way we play!

But he got us to a final? right? Why haven't we been in more FA or League Cup finals over the last 13 years since it isnt earth shattering to do so? I dont recall us meeting Liverpool, Chelsea or City in all those failed attempts to reach one.
Why haven't we been in more finals?.... Because typically we were higher up in the league and focusing on qualifying for the CL instead of winning the League Cup.

Hm, clearly not the same warmth he extended to Poch eighteen months ago. Somehow that makes me very happy.

Tbf, he'd worked with Poch much longer and Poch kind of made him the superstar player he is today. That wouldn't have happened if it was Jose in charge all those years ago.
Jose is the manager that has used him in his pomp, but Poch brought him to being at that level consistently.

He probably owes Poch the most for the career he's had thus far

That assumes that Jose wasn't punishing Dele for his 'it's just brick long long ball' comment in the documentary.... His treatment by Jose suggests to me that was the case.

That comment was from before Jose took over though right, and Dele played a lot at the end of last season, potentially even our best player over that period.

If he was punishing him for something it was something else.

I think it more likely Dele had personal issues and Jose didn't think his mindset was right.

No, think it was the Wolves game at home last year. After we got beat 3-2, he had a rant and said something like "This is brick. Hit the ball long and lose it...".

Do you think Levy couldn't believe his luck!? How do I get out of paying Mourinho a £XXm severance....."

Phone rings: Jose is not taking training!

...sacked for gross misconduct, effective immidietly.
