How could it be on the last manager? He got us on the brink of the biggest trophies possible. As a Spurs fan of 41 years those were trophies we could only dream of. Jose doesn’t even have us on the brink of top 4 there is no equivalence between the 2 managers except in the heads of fans desperate to show the last manager was a failure.

in hindsight I should have put won nothing

I don’t think Mopo was a failure, I just don’t think claiming players have wasted two years winning nothing after doing the same previously Is a thing - the whole point is to win trophies.

We had a top 4 squad/team then - we don’t now.

just as I don’t think the current state of the club is all on Jose.

Maybe we need a Duncan Ferguson type character on our staff, bring back Joe Jordan, just to put a bit of fear of losing into the team

True, but I think a CL win would have rejuvenated the players and manager. Instead, the spark was extinguished for good.

Would have bought him a bit more good will for the rocky patch the following season - a second summers transfer window (following the GLC/Ndombele one) might have been enough to turn the ship around goingbin to this season

We have been lucky Keane has had a stinker tonight. Gifted us 2 goals.

Another shocker from Jose with that disgusting starting 11 . He’s got to go. Forget the league cup . Move him on .

I remember our sharp decline in form was written down to fatigue, but in hindsight that may be only half the truth. We had 4 weeks of rest and preparation before the final, but looked no better. A CL win might very well have changed that, but then again I think it would just have delayed the unevitable.
