Danny Rose

I don't get why he wouldn't take say a 6 month loan to WBA to at least play again and get himself in the shop window. I can't see too many hot offers coming in for someone who's only gametime would have been a 6 month loan in 2 years.
Who knows?.... The offers may have been for considerably less money.

No I think we have some distinctly average players who Poch managed to elevate at times. The likes of Davies will regress under Mourinho who is not a manager who will take personal care of each player and improve them. They have to do it themselves. With players like Davies they have never been that gifted. Sure hard working professional but not brilliant at anything. Without Poch getting the most out of them they are not good enough.

I have some sympathy with Davies.... he is being asked to play different roles every week... LCB in a 3, Lb in a 4, LWB in a 5, LM in a 4. If he must play then let’s play him as a LB in a 4, his standard position that he actually knows.

Chopping and changing between formations does no one any favours. You'd think after 15 months we'd have settled on something by now

Agree with this. If you get JM you need to back him in the transfer market.

Maybe covid has helped. It looks, like Levy has JM believing he can be a man manager.

Ndomb was a success though.
Each manager has their strengths (and weaknesses) Poch was exceptional at bringing players through and developing players. Not just with us, he got players average players like Rickie Lambert and Lalana playing at a CL level. He identified goals for them, what they needed to, and got them into a positive place where they often excelled - probably beyond their intrinsic skill level. Mourinho has tactical nous, but he's choreographed his successful teams with players who are already confident in their ability.

If that was a deal breaker not sure why we would not top up the difference, anything % has to be lower and therefore better than paying 100% of his wages not to play.
Just a real shame all round, we’ve seen the impact not playing has had on other players not being able to reach anything like their previous levels so it’s difficult to see how the next chapter post Spurs is going to be a good one, unless dropping down a level and playing for a specific club or in a specific area is going there become possible by being on a free.
I’m sure the rationale will come out from Rose’s perspective at some point, I hope we see him back at NWHL and give him a decent reception.

Well at least we don’t have to worry about finding a buyer for Rose, as his contract expires this summer. Good luck to him wherever he ends up but we should’ve cashed in on him years ago.

It's not as simple as that, we can't force clubs to come in for him or force him to move to any that do.
Saudi Sportswashing Machine wasn't interested after his move there which tells a lot. Maybe too much baggage with him
for what he can offer at this stage?

We accepted an offer from Watford for him iirc.

Had a google, seems both were true, in 2019 he wanted to go there and we refused, in 2020, we were selling but he'd changed his mind.

Wasn't it that a deal had been agreed, Rose was going Watford, then Levy done a Levy and wanted more money? I think the Athletic had a piece on it that confirmed the deal was done, but Levy, after agreeing, wanted a change to fee structure or more down payment.

Also, Rose was chucked under a bus on All or Nothing. Didn't like that, he's done some dingdonghead behaviour sure, but didn't deserve that.

Yip. As I have said on here numerous times, the problems at our club are unfortunately deep and ingrained.

What I found amazing was his behaviour that fans jumped in was him saying exactly what the fans thought
Fans constantly moaned about our signings, and for once a player was brave enough to say similar

Had Dier said what Rose did i can't help but think the most outspoken critics of Rose would have lapped it up
