Daniel Levy - Chairman

Hopefully one thing has become crystal clear to the Chairman this season. Winning football matches isn't really down to the manager, it is down to the quality of the players. Better players will win you more games...I wonder if the Chairman will also be sent a warning shot by the number of people who don't renew their ST?
Ah jeez....you're not saying managers were never needed all along? How has football missed this crystal clear revelation?

Season ticket renewal is open until June? How would anyone know the number of people not renewing?

I know quite a few S/T holders and the are going to renew for sure. Saying that they are of the older generation who have seen far worse from our club ( including some of us seeing us relegated one season). They may be be a few younger ones but we get that every season, we shall see i guess.

I didn't mean that managers aren't influential, of course they are. Fairly or unfairly, I wonder if the Chairman thought £15m a year Mourinho would be a cheaper option than investing in more expensive, and better, players? Sadly Mourinho's tough love- it is always the players fault, rather than his fault - may not work any more.....

That’s exactly what he thought.... surely better to instead trust the man that had taken you to 4 CL qualifications in a row who has actually been in charge of those players?

EVery club thinks it
It is cheaper
But doenst always mean better

Is this Daniel’s worst managerial appointment yet? £15m a year and £30m to sack him.... pitiful.

No question, anyone with any sense could see Mourinho was finished at the top level and he blundered on ahead regardless.

The only glimmer of hope is that having gone balls out for his long term no.1 managerial target and it falling flat on it's face that he finally realises he doesn't understand the game as much as he thought he did and starts deferring to people who do

Or asking for an experienced, commanding, PL-ready CB and getting Rodon.

This is Levy and ENIC, though. This is what they are, at the core - they are the two biggest limiting factors to any dreams at the club, and have been for a long time now. 'But Levy' will always be the reason we don't spend anything, and fall miserably behind everyone around us - why we will lose an icon and the best player we have developed since Glenn Hoddle because he's tired of losing and wants to go somewhere where winning is prioritised over the balance sheet.

People should come here expecting that - that's the operating environment at Tottenham Hotspur.

It is entirely Mourinho's fault that he couldn't handle it as well as Poch did. And to be fair to Levy, he pushed the boat out more for Mourinho than he ever did for Poch - a man who deserved Levy's support far, far more than this utter charlatan and fraud. So Mourinho has even fewer excuses.

Agreed. Makes me chuckle, though, when some think that only our last manager was affected by this. And that things will change with a new face in the dugout.

Without wholesale squad change not much will alter.

I don't think anyone thinks that, all managers have to work within the constraints of the club - same here as it is elsewhere. The constraints were tougher whilst we were building the stadium and having to balance the books though, surely you can appreciate that?
