Giovani Lo Celso

If any kind of offer for Lo Celso comes in the summer, I'd snap their hands off! The guy is out injured more than Lamela, and offers less than Lamela on the rare occasions he's playing. So far he's a massive waste of money.
For all the minutes we get out of the Argentinian duo, we might as well of sold Lamela in order to pay the extortionate agent’s / add-on fees and secure Fernandes signing or been brave and took a punt on Grealish.

Lo Celso is a very good player and if we want to sell, there will be plenty buyers

Bit of a brick narrative on this thread, the guy has had a bad run due to

- Some pretty bricky tackles on international duty
- Having had an injury untreated for three months due to covid lockdown

Having small setbacks during recovery of one injury is nothing unusual ..

He may be a very good player but he's useless to us sitting in the sick bay, every time there's a new excuse. I suspect the old write off this year, with a good pre season he'll be a world beater etc. Line to be trotted out, I not sure, he looks an expensive mistake to me.

People said that about Tanguy too

If, and when, he comes back, he'll be like a new swan... like a new swoon... like a new skew... like a new sing... like a new signing.

They did, but I just dont believe we will see the same reaction with Lo Celso, I hope we do.
Reaction?
The guys player well when he has been fit
Tanguy wasn’t fit enough and Lo Celso joined us injured
He will be fine IMO once free of his injuries which he never used to get elsewhere

So far during his spell here he's been injured a lot, that's true. How do you know that will continue though?

When a player is frequently out injured over years like Lamela I think it's fair to expect that to keep happening. Lo Celso hasn't really been here that long.

once bitten, twice shy

In his defence Lo Celso ran himself into the ground when we were really struggling last season, so I’m willing to cut him a little slack, especially as I think he will be even more of an asset with better players around him, as I think his strengths would be pressing and driving us forward from deep and then we have a lot more options who can produce the magic in the final third.

I know the game moves quickly but there were periods last season where he really was the only glimpse of light when the team without Kane and Son was really struggling.
If he can play a part in the run in it will be a huge boost, if we can’t get him to feature at all this season it may be difficult to find a taker even if we did want to cut our losses based on his fitness record.

I agree, and the fact that there would be plenty of buyers tell you that we should be keeping him. Finding and signing good players is tough; we shouldnt be getting rid of the ones we have

That is my stance on it, he has showed in games that he has ability but also had the injury problems. Talk of getting rid because of that is a bit premature IMO
