Gareth Bale

if he see's out the season playing how is currently and remains fit then it's a no brainer if the 2nd year extension rumours are true - one less position we need to look at in the transfer window and more money available for key positions
Then it would be a no brainer. But even with some small injury problems and some inconsistent performances I think it would be a solid decision.

He does have to show a bit more consistency both in terms of fitness and performances for it to be a good decision imo.

I have spoken to a few from the bank sector. Still, £29m pa 'salary' is very good and up there.
Exactly. Top-of-the-tree CEOs and so on earn a fortune. They're a long way up the pyramid from your average Joe on £30k or whatever.

There must be a comparable, if not lower, number of footballers worldwide in that wage bracket. Must be, what, fewer than 100 professional footballers in Europe on £300k+/week? As the pinnacle of a huge sporting pyramid with £billions floating around, I don't begrudge them that. You don't have to go too far down the pyramid before footballers are on pretty normal wages.

If I had that talent and single-minded determination, I'd want a piece of that action too.
