Jose Mourinho - SACKED

We saw last season that he wasn't afraid to use Lo Celso deeper in midfield. He even started Lo Celso there against Liverpool earlier in the season.

Same Mourinho that used Fabregas next to Matic deep in midfield for Chelsea during his second spell there. Could give more examples, but I don't see the point.

I genuinely think Sissoko in central midfield next to Hojbjerg, in games other than against the biggest teams at least, was a result of a lack of (fit, in form) options rather than a reflection on Mourinho's ideology.

Ndombele looks very good and ready for that deeper role now. Would he have been earlier in the season? At some point earlier than when Mourinho started using him there, maybe. At the start of the season I doubt it. I don't think the plan for the season was ever Hojbjerg and Sissoko.

tickle my balls with a feather, we have had so many changes in M/F due to injurys/fitness levels that Jose had to go the way we have.

How many on here didn't want Ndombele in the squad nevermind in the first 11 at the start of the season? Mourinho would've been slaughtered if we were losing games with Ndombele in CM in the first few games.

Absolutely this.

Has Mourinho yet had a fully fit first team squad available to pick from in his entire time at Spurs?

Think about that for a minute.

No and some that he’s had to pick he would never have signed in the first place

Cant wait for Jose to lead us to glory with all of his players back. I'm backing him and the team to stick two fingers up to some.

Errr, OK?
I'm backing him to win the Europa and deliver CL football as well as a trophy to make our supporters happy.

Err, Yeah?
Winning the Europa is a trophy, but I suspect even then that will not make some shouty pointy supporters happy, they will find something else to complain about as is their individual nature.

You can see it when we win on here, there are still those who want to make snide remarks about Mourinho. But to be fair the likes of Steff and Billy, whilst critical of Mourinho have also acknowledged the decent performances aswell. I’d like Mourinho to stick two fingers up at some ‘journalists’ more than anything, some of the nonsense I’ve seen written about him is cringeworthy....

So many projections. Oh well, if it happens, here's hoping you take a few minutes to enjoy it.

It's funny how a difference of opinion can melt peoples minds.

I'll be happy if people stop pretending our team/squad is so bad we can't expect any better than what we were getting either in terms of results or in performance. I've always said this is a team/squad that should be challenging for top 4 and capable of playing front foot attacking football and if that's where Mourinho has us come the end of the season, rather than mid table playing Fat Sam Football, then he will be doing ok in my books.

Achieving the above is what will show me whether or not we're on the right path, any cup win will be celebrated in the moment but not an indication in of itself of us getting back to where we were (ie going for the league and CL) if the league form doesn't improve. Cup wins will be celebrated even more so as i have a nice little EL + LC double from back in October that'll net me a nice big win :p

Don’t think our squad is THAT bad but is definitely still an issue. It’s not a coincidence that since gradually getting players back fit and our squad players not featuring as much performances have improved. Reguilon back offering width on the left instead of Davies (impacts is massively going forward) Sissoko/Winks not playing, and Lo Celso coming back into the fold would be the final piece in the jigsaw in terms of more attractive football. With Sess and Skipp for next season, defence should be the priority in the summer recruitment process. If we can stabilise the CB and possibly GK area I think things will look promising....

It’s no coincidence that since having our best players fit we look better...
it’s also no coincidence that our most limp performances have coincided when we have had our weakest available defence making basic errors and the attack not taking the chances they have
Now we have our strongest defence, I can still guarantee we will still make mistakes at the back but the attack may be able to compensate
I said it on Sunday but the difference having Reggie over Davies is huge... modern full backs offer so much to teams. The Aurier changes this season (and yes we have been more defensive in games) have been huge too.
Having the better full backs playing also helps the CBS too. Nothing really came from wide areas vs Burnley yet that’s a strength of there’s.

If Spurs win the Europa under Jose then he will (rightly) go down as one of our best ever managers.

Of course there will be some supporters who aren't happy with him, just as there were some supporters not happy with Pochettino even though he had us competing at a level above the Europa.

IMO the poor performances were those when we sat back after going in front against weaker opposition. Palace, Fulham and Wolves were all very beatable, yet in each of those games we dropped off and sat back defending for our lives as though we were 1-0 up with 10 mins to go against an elite team. Had we even just won two of those games the league table would look very different now. The tactics back then were far too negative. The good news is that I think Jose has learnt from that and is now trying to get us up the pitch and keeping more men forward. Hopefully it will continue.

All 3 were goals conceded from cross too
Saudi Sportswashing Machine is also forgotten about too much for my liking... a game where we didn’t take our chances again

I didn't list Saudi Sportswashing Machine as in that game we carried on attacking and just got unlucky.... The other three we were on top and instead of continuing to play our football we moved deeper and deeper and didn't show any interest in attacking again until the opposition had equalised.

True and Saudi Sportswashing Machine we wet robbed by a rule they changed that week
The others we should have taken our chances and we would have won except wolves where I don’t remember a shot after our goal
