Gareth Bale

Was superb today, must play all the time now
Yup, was excellent in 2nd half. Hopefully he is fit enough to start some PL games and Mourinho can haul Bale off after 60 minutes (like Redknapp used to with van der Vaart) once the 3 points are in the bag; although with our Keystone Cops defending that might require at least a 4-0 lead most games!

He showed more in that second half than anyone IMO
Alway wanted the ball and showed energy when he got it

Nah, I'd rather watch Moura run into defenders 8 times per game, and Lamela chasing back and making slide tackles and then springing up with a practiced look of innocence plastered across his mush.

Doherty and Bale was such a contrast to the first half. I couldn't tell who was supposed to be wide right and I dont think Tanganga had a chance to even cross the halfway line.

The only criticism was Doherty's final ball was a bit pants. Although was nice to see a bit of overlapping play (memories of Lennon Corluka).

Maybe this is the best combination for the next few games.

If Aurier is out then why not
I’m not sure Aurier has played with Bale yet?

But this shows there is still a player there

Gareth Bale should NOT play more than 45mins tomorrow, if at all. He absolutely HAS to start league games now, i do not want to see Moura or Bergwijn starting. Will be telling in the next league game what Jose does.

Just heard that vs Wolfsburger Bale made 16 passes, 4 were considered 'key' passes i.e. creating goal opportunities. A quarter of his passes. And then couple that with his performance vs West Ham. Let's stop relying on a brick defence and start attacking.

Smart move is he gets 20-30 minutes tomorrow to just keep rhythm, start on week-end.

Question is does he really need resting? or a run of games? Id be tempted to start him in both. Take him off after 60 or so in Europa then full start on the weekend. He is getting back to it. Time to see what we have so we know what to do with him in the summer.

And yes! lets just start attacking.

I think Gareth is as much about managing his body and his fears (the game a couple of weeks ago where he didn't "feel" right)

This is the one thing Jose is doing right, let Gareth be the one to push us to play more, the issue is it's probably better for the team to underplay him Wednesday and be assured he can play week-end vs. 60 odd minutes Wednesday and he might feel unable to play week-end.

We have a few months still to decide for next year.

It is not just a pun to say if JM finally outs an arm around him and pumps him up, he could well Bale him out this season.
Boom!
