Harry Kane MBE

Daily Fail saying Levy's slapped a £150 million price tag on Harry Kane and the Manchester clubs are all agog to snag him?

Fcuk that action. If Levy sells Kane, I'm done with Spurs. That's a business transaction too far.
I’m sure there’s no way we sell Kane unless he wants to go. I’m usually quite pragmatic when it comes to finances and the benefit to the club but I’d hate to see him line up for another prem club against us and would prefer to see us receive less cash to facilitate a move abroad. There is a tipping point where I guess the prospect of Kane running down his contract to get a free transfer to the club of his choice which is a terrible scenario as if there is one player in the recent era who has actually given us loyalty when the big boys came knocking it is Kane.

If we sell Kane to fund a Mourinho shopping spree i think i'd give up my season ticket
If the £150m was used to take players of a certain age and accelerate a rebuild then it would be acceptable (though not sure I'd want Mourinho in charge of that rebuild?)

My player list in the transfer thread shows how much quality there is available with 1 year or less left on their contracts this summer.... To be honest I think it is probably more likely that Son goes anyway. He'll have only 2 years left this summer and if his agent refuses new contract offers then Levy really has to sell this summer or accept that we'll not get anything like market rate for him from then on.

i don't have the belief that Mourinho will take the team forward in any meaninglful or lasting way with that level of investment - im not opposed in theory to selling the crown jewels to help progress the team but not to give the money to him.

Probably just wants to make sure he is fit for his beloved England in the summer.
I don’t think anyone can question Kane’s commitment to us, he plays as much as he can, rushes himself back from injuries ahead of schedule and never shirks a challenge. We’d all like him to miss a few friendlies but missing those games is not in his make up either. I do worry that his career will be shortened because of this though.
Trippier and Alli getting and playing through injuries in the last tourney probably had a bigger detrimental impact to us.

Something that is often overlooked when discussing the second half of our 18/19 season is the impact that having so many of our players going deep at the World Cup had

To sell Kane for £150m and think that would be great for a squad rebuild would be stupid. How would we replace those goals and what would we spend the £150m on??? I'd only sell him if he was desperate to leave as I think he deserves to be playing in a better team.
Perhaps the £150m could be used for players like;
£42m Davison Sanchez
£31m Sissoko
£20m Jansen
£27m Bergwijn
£10m N'Koudou
£12m N'Jie
£10m Clarke

All transfers are risks and some are successful or may grow to become successful but if you think giving us £150m to rebuild the squad is a good thing, then you need to look at how we spend the money. The Bale money was hardly spent brilliantly.

Eeiksen and verts were a success. We got our money back on Chadli and Chiriches only soldado and Left foot Lamela were unmitigated disasters.

I would not want us to sell Kane under any circumstances apart from one, he may decide he wants to move to a club where his talents would bring him trophys. As i have said before i would not think any less of him if he does decide to do that.

Yup, with our transfer committee’s patchy record it’s probably best we stick than risk another S Club 7 farce!

Him deciding he wants to leave is the only circumstances I would not sell in. Let him rot here if he wants to leave, otherwise sell up and reinvest, same with son.

I agree on the committee, but sticking just means you go stale.
We certainly need to get rid of the likes of Sissoko, Sanchez and Alderweireld plus upgrade on the likes of Lamela and Moura but selling our star player to fund that rebuild seems too big a risk to me.

Aside from how badly we did with the Bale money, seeing how much Madrid have diminished since they decided to reallocate Ronaldo’s wages also gives me cause for concern.
