Harry Kane MBE

Jose is a winner and you only have to see his trophy haul to see that, and i still believe he will get us over the line and get us a trophy.

I never though Hart was going to play that much for us but i could see him having a influence in the dressing room and every winning dressing room needs at least a couple of winners with the winning meteorology, and we seem to have lacked that under Poch, I know many dismiss the idea that a winning meteorology is needed in a dressing room but they are wrong imo.

Bale i was always against going in for him over the last few years when I think that I am a better football fan than the rest of you were making comments about bringing him back. The reason i thought that way was all the injury problems he was having, the lack of games he was getting ( down to those injurys and what could be a lack of ambition after winning everything). However like a lot of fans i got caught up in hype of him coming back, mores the pity because ( so far) its been a complete waste of time and money.

1) Will the Carabao Cup be enough to satisfy you?
2) Where is it? Are you seeing it?

Kane must be sat here, watching this team, watching us play, and think "i'm done".

He deserves trophies, he's seen players leave and go off and win things like Walker etc, and he knows he needs serious trophies, not a Carabao Cup. He won't win that here, the next 5 years of Tottenham will be a mess regardless of who's manager, unlikely to qualify for CL for the foreseeable future.

He'll leave end of this season, and all the best to him. Deserves better than we have provided.

I sadly think this will be Harry's last season with us.
I can't see him putting up with the current situation too for much longer. He looked totally tinkled off standing in the tunnel last time out.

There is almost zero chance that either Harry or Sonny will be signing a new contract here. Not sure how long the pair of them have left on their current deals but if either/both are going into their last two years this summer then I think the chairman has to sell.

3 years and 2 years respectively

...or whoever our manager is this summer needs to be able to sell Sonny a vision of what will happen over the next 3-4 years.
Put yourself in Son's position. You are a very good player probably right at your peak. You are at a club where it is very unlikely that you will win or even compete for the big trophies. Would you sign that contract? (Remember that the player has no real affiliation to Spurs like we do).

Let's not forget how quickly things can change in football. Not so long ago OGS was getting sacked and United were being written off.

Get Reggie and GLC back, Bale and Dele starting to perform and - somehow! - a more settled back four and things could change dramatically. Sometimes all it takes is a fluke result going our way and confidence surges back. Even now we are just four points off the top four. So although improbable it's still not inconceivable we finish top four and win a trophy.

because neither of them have bitched or moaned and have always given their all for the club I would actually be pleased for them if they both got big moves at the end of this season to clubs in Europe that could give them trophies

I’d agree, but I’m not sure who can afford him in the current market. He remains under contract for quite some time; Levy will place a £150 million price tag on his head and won’t budge on that; he’s 28, with dodgy ankles, so there is an element of risk; and there are no fans in stadiums shelling out money.

He may well be stuck.

Emirates Marketing Project are the obvious choice. Can afford a ridiculously high fee, Augero fitness and age question marks, Kane is a ready made replacement, and could still go for Shearers PL record....

Winning meteorology is overstated. You need the talent to back it up. Mourinho can instill all the winning meteorology he wants, it won't work with the current squad because it is just lacking in the talent to win the big things.

Nope i disagree, some of our players under Poch had the talent ( i think most on here would agree with that) but they always seemed to fail at the last hurdle, that shows a lack of that mentalitiy like it/accept it or not. I do agree however that the a lot of current squad is past its best and we have seen a lot of those players revert back to the shadows they were under Poch at the end.

And at a time when his value will be lower than for years and his suitors reduced further because of his injuries

The left field option - Bayern Munich.
Lewandowski is 33 in Aug, Muller 32.
Less physical league that he could dominate, huge title chance, good chance of CL run and potential winners with the right draw and luck.

Mate, I completely agree with your logic and I can also see Kane and Son running down their contracts like Eriksen did, but I wrote in another thread that people have a tendency in football to get carried away with form. I’m typically a realist when it comes to Spurs (some call me mr negative) but I do feel 1-2 smart signings could be the catalyst for us becoming challengers again. We may possibly need another manager but one big signing can lift a club and transform the team. If we offer enough money to Son I think there’s a chance he signs. He can always hand in a transfer request in 18 months if we are still hopeless and haven’t improved.
