Son Heung-Min

It is one way yes, but, having done my coaching badges, we were taught (admittedly the FA may have it wrong of course), that kids training drills should all be match-related and keepy-uppies are not match related...
It is sometching that I encourage very young kids to practice when alone in the garden, using both feet and indeed all parts of the body, also practicing higher and lower trajectories. I could do 100 kick ups alternate feet (or thighs or head, even shoulders) every time well before I was even playing under 10s football. My touch was probably then my best attribute as a player from then until I stopped playing semi pro football in my early twenties.

It is far, far better to practice to play the ball off a wall at varying heights, speeds and spin, so that you learn how it bounces off the wall, how it arrives back at you and how to kill different types of ball spin/speed/height.
Just kicking it to yourself is much less useful.

Have people actually watched the documentary yet?! His dad is terrifying!

I also found the tone of the whole thing quite odd - Sonny came across quite downbeat and almost mournful. He seemed very lonely, only coming alive when he bumped into Jan and Eric in Hampstead, which was priceless!

Overall, I thought they could’ve done a much better job of it, but ultimately, it certainly made clear the sacrifices he made to get to where he is today.

I understand the Son academy choosing to focus on individual ball control and skills etc before playing games with the kids but I can't fathom why they hold ball juggling in such high esteem.... how is that helpful in a game of football??
We need him to do the Dave Mackay pre-match show off!

Hmmm how do I answer this? Ball control and technique - that is why! I never mastered it. I tried so hard but never figured it out. But it is useful and confidence building as well. There is a skill that Ndombele and Reguilon pulled off Vs Sheffield United. Back home on the streets, we call it 'show us your number', I think some cultures call it heighting. Also watch the famous Ronaldinho ball juggle Vs Athletic Bilbao (IIRC). I often wondered what the defending player told his kids. Nasty.

Not always that easy for a 6 year old to have a wall to practice against....

We need the Asian Defoe to go on one his streaks.

need to have some players to pass him the ball instead of a 2 man midfield, one of which is Hjobjerg who is effectively another CB. All we have is Ndombele trying to link midfield to attack, absolutely nothing else as a platform, hardly surprising Son gone off the boil in last 9 games as the rest of the team has.

Jose needs to put a fudging midfield together instead of effectively 6 players at the back.

Couldn't have put it better. Not sure wtf Mourinho was thinking on Sunday. Did he genuinely think that would work?

To be fair you have valid point about the lack of creativity behind him.

Hopefully Sonaldo can maintain this scoring rate for the whole season.

2020/21 - 13 goals from 22 PL appearances = 146 minutes per goal
2019/20 - 11 goals from 30 PL appearances = 226 minutes per goal
2018/19 - 12 goals from 31 PL appearances = 171 minutes per goal
2017/18 - 12 goals from 37 PL appearances = 193 minutes per goal
2016/17 - 14 goals from 34 PL appearances = 148 minutes per goal
2015/16 - 4 goals from 28 PL appearances = 276 minutes per goal
