You’re wasting your time. I’ve pointed this out multiple times on this thread. His numbers without Kane, Son and old Eriksen declined. No sh!t! I think I pointed out last season he had a better return than Maddison and was playing deeper.

Anti Dele people aren’t for changing. They get the hump that he gets paid to post clothes on his Insta or that he plays video games.

These same people will now tell you he’s been poor in the league this season (all half a game of it).

The bottom line is we now play a low block where Jose wants a quick transition and the ball moved to Kane and Son ASAP. Dele thrives with territorial pressure around the oppos box where he can pick a late pass (like vs Marine) or sneak in for a goal. That and the fact Jose probably just doesn’t fancy him are the reasons he’s not playing.

Pretty much correct. Which confirms that Dele only really works in a specific system, tailored for him, with exactly the right players around him, and he becomes uneffective in other systems. That does not translate to a 100m pound player. Those players are supposed to be game changers, no matter the circumstances.
Dele is far from that.

I thought Mourinho wanted us to press from the front and not sit back in a low block once we had taken the lead? I can see why Dele might not suit the tactical approach we saw v City & Arsenal but in the other games he seems the right kind of player to fit in to what the manager wants.

I’ve said all all along that premium price players come with a set of deliverables and characteristics that our ones who wanted to move didn’t have...

I don't think they have crumbled. Typically we have come up against teams who are either better than us or have deeper squads than us so that at those end of season crunch games they have more left in the tank.

Mega club meaning Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona or Juventus? Inter are probably in the second group of clubs below those four (and I think Barcelona made a mistake in not going for Eriksen, he would've made a perfect Iniesta replacement for them I think).

IMO our best midfield of players at the club today still contains Dele. Hojbjerg with Ndombele alongside him and Dele playing where Ndombele has been playing would be a brilliant three I think.

It doesn't really confirm anything. Dele started really well under Mourinho. It looked to me like Mourinho was trying to play him as the centre forward when Kane and Son were out and Dele didn't do well there (no surprise really, he isn't a number 9 at all in that he isn't fast and nor is he particularly strong).

I disagree. The players had a lot more to do in those games than they did
Even the Chelsea league cup semi... that was weak, although in the end we did well to take it to penalties
