I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

Why bring on mr. huff and puff when we needed some guile?

The kind of guile that catches the whole defence out and slips a perfect ball into Son to pass to Reggie for a tap in game winning goal?

It's a real shame Sonny forgot about the offside law and didn't hold his run.

Lamela only played for about 15 minutes but created 1 clear goal scoring chance which was scored but ruled offside due to Son. We would have won this match if Lamela had started instead of Sissoko in attack.

Playing well and really helps with the press. The only prob is that he's never far away from an injury unfortunately
.
Unfortunately, he has these moments, 3-5 games where you get to see what he could have been.

Actually think Jose has helped him with releasing the ball earlier (his biggest flaw), the bite and attitude remains ..

When it was suggested that Lamela had many of the attributes valued by Mourinho, the Spurs manager said: "I just want to confirm, a good Lamela I love. You are right. He is the kind of player that I like very much.

"The first thing I like about him is he wants to play. He wants to assume responsibility. He never hides. He wants the ball. He's a little bit sometimes chaotic, but it's a positive reason to be chaotic because it's, 'I want to play, I want the ball, if the ball is not arriving to me I have to arrive to the ball'.

"I love Coco. Of course when I arrived, his history of injuries was incredibly negative. Was very, very, very hard. That's the truth.

"In this moment he's fit, but of course a player with his history, he played 90 minutes against West Brom I think [he actually played 74].

"Even more [against Everton], so let's see, but honestly I'm going to ask him 'can you play again from the start' because if he feels he can of course I'm going to play him."

Wish Mourinho had started Lamela more in recent matches. As shows against Everton, Lamela is a big game player.

And tonight?
Not capable of playing games quickly and too one footed
The guy was great previous two games but awful tonight as he didn’t release the ball

Standard Lamela. Ran around a lot, refused to use his right foot, held on to the ball too long. Been here nearly 8 years and not good enough to be first choice. Would be asking questions if we give him another contract.
