Gareth Bale

We've seen it time and time again. Top players who have been out for a prolonged period failing to recapture their form until they've had a long run of games, sometimes a whole season.

Never easy to tell, and hopefully I'm completely misjudging him, but on the face of it what does seem to be lacking with Bale right now is any real sense of urgency. He seems to be lacking the hunger and commitment that got him to the top in the first place. Perhaps because he feels he's 'been there, done that, worn the T-shirt'?

If so Jose needs to put a rocket under him.
 
No wonder he was pushing for that move to Asia. Could walk around that league and still be seen as an icon.

I can't understand why he's not more involved in the Prem...

You can't really compare him to Teddy. Teddy's strength was always his quick thinking and positional sense.

A big part of Bale's brilliance was his explosive pace. That diminishes over time. That said, he should be much better than he is right now and bringing him back is looking like a mistake.
 
We should lock this thread until he at least starts a PL game. No point piling in on him when he's either injured, ill, not fully fit yet etc.
Yes it's frustrating and it would be nice to have a peak back playing but there's plenty other targets to have a go at right now especially after last nights performance.
 
I can't understand why he didn't come on last night for Sissoko or at least Moura/Alli. None are on form but that's 3 people a lot of teams would love to have on their bench when we needed a goal.

Doesn't look like a clever move in hindsight but he's not started a league game yet, can he really be that unfit and if so then how's he ever going to get fit with a few 15-20 minute games every so often.

I did not know we had played Fulham.first game I have missed for a while,so not very good on my part.There's so much going on!!

I don,t know if Bale played so this may or may not be so relavent if he had played. He has won
us one game this season even though not playing regularly. Maybe he,s just shrugging his shouders if Jose
does not play him. Offcourse I don't know the whole situation or how fit he is..but as I said before it's ridiculous to
right him off as being too old to compete again! Going to run through the Fulham thread now. GHod that is bad result
considering all the other points we are throwing away.

We are not writing him off we are giving a chance! His lack of preparedness for competition has bit him! This start in Madrid some time ago!
