I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

Too bad Lamela was involved in the controversial Christmas party. But he has never been involved in any off the field issues all this while. So, it must be the bad influence of Lo Celso and Lanzini. It is disappointing Lamela won't be available against Brentford in the League Cup semi final after he almost single handedly helped us beat Chelsea in the earlier round.

Ok you got me. Lamela is the senior pro out of Lo Celso and Reggie, so if anyone will he will be the one deemed a bad influence. He and the party host Lanzini are friends since playing for River Plate together. Single handedly or single footedly helped us beat Chelsea ?

Reports say the party was held at Lo Celso's house and it was him who uploaded the photos to his social media account.

To be fair to Lamela he’s been injured for about 400 of those days

2nd last league goal ? First time hearing such a term ! Funny how far people can go to discredit some players.

But how about this stat, where Spurs will be if Lamela had not scored his last goal :
Answer :
- out in the League Cup Round 4
- best chance of a trophy gone
- chance of a first trophy in 13 years gone
- chance of Mourinho's first trophy at Spurs gone

That’s ok then, worth paying 70k a week for 7 years.

just think what we could have done with a player that isn’t injured for the majority of time

That stats looks a million times worse for Moura considering the comparative minutes played in that time.

Mate, that stat is so hand picked it's really hard to take seriously (days since 2nd last goal in a specific competition that happened to be posted for several months? really?)

Lucas needs to up his goal output (10 PL, 15 total in his first full season with us is a strong output), but if you are being fair with him, he's already 1 short of his entire goal output last season in January.

I think as stats go it does tell a story tbf - ultimately neither player can be relied upon and it's an obvious area of the pitch that needs improving.

If we're going to give Bergwijn a run there to stake his claim i think that we need to cut loose all other options and bring in someone else to contest the position - that's not really a revelation, it's been clear for quite some time

The stats don’t look good for Moura, Lamela or Bergwijn. There’s a hole that needs to be filled there no doubt about it. Can Alli do that job? Hope he gets a chance to show he can. I’ve been a critic of his for what I feel is justified criticism but at the same time I don’t want to give up on him as he has proven he can be a near world class player when he’s on form, he needs to improve aspects of his game but still.

Moura for me has more credit in the bank than Lamela and Bergwijn. I’ve defended him for a long time but the more I see of him the more I feel he’s not good enough. As a squad player yes, he has a great attitude, works hard and can get you a goal but not a starter. Lamela needs to be sold IMO. Moura scored 10 league goals in his first full season with us. That’s twice as many as Lamela’s highest total in the league and more than Bergwijn.
