Spurs & Covid

Edited now - cup game

That’s their call but it’s not an excuse IMO for them to not field a team vs us... obviously that’s just my opinion

I look at it and say in material terms if they can meet there obligation for the game today despite being full of COVID, they can full-fill their obligation on Wednesday surely. The fact they may have wanted to rest player so just squad management which applies to all teams

Other teams have played under strength teams when they've been missing 2-3 players. Agree that if Villa are missing say 15 players then it'll likely be off, but if its in the say 4-5 region then I think it'll go ahead

I think Emirates Marketing Project were missing 5 first team players when they got their last PL game cancelled

Agreed, and they'll have some, but not all, first-teamers back for the game against us. Their first positive tests were Mon this week so its likely that some of their players have had covid for a week perhaps more by now. Some of those will likely be showing negative by next Tues/Wed...but presumably they'd be without a few players though
Thats true...though those who have tested positive should be isolating and unable to train with the squad (apart from personal fitness). So even if they test negative on Tues, are they match fit?

Who cares
That’s their issue as a multi million ££ club and squad
By not playing tonight their players will arguably be fresher than most

Now Brentford’s manager has tested positive....

I was thinking about that when I saw this on Tuesday.

I don't care, I'm pointing out that players should not be in a position to just come straight back into the team after 10 days isolation. So we shouldnt be up against a full strength team.

We shouldn’t be I agree
But we should have a game regardless

Most sensible thing I’ve heard is Villa call off our game now and we play Fulham on Wednesday
Fulham play Friday so no chance the Premier League put that game on for Wednesday. Wouldn’t be fair for Fulham to play two games in two days, would it? We all know it’s only us that has to do that this year.

Move the Friday game a day then I guess
