I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

It is really unfortunate for Lamela to get injured wrhen he was in good form again. Wish he can come back soon as we need all the players when we face the big teams in the next 4 or 5 matches in the league.

He might be back for Sunday, if not he'll be ready to go for a manic December. 8 games in the month.

Be a shame if he’s not back for Sunday. It’s the sort of big game and opponent where his brickhousing could be vital. Guess he’ll have to save it all up for Woolwich and the Dippers.
Bergwijn did well in that "work hard, close down your side, maybe make something happen at some point" role against City. Lucas too has shown that he can play that role now.

Not even sure Lamela gets the start of he's fit, though having the option would obviously be better.

Looks like the club may want to move him on this January. Not against it if we get a better player in return.
I think he may be used as the whipping boy for the COVID rooster up
I guess someone will be the fall guy
Key for us is who we replace him with, can they stay for for over half a season and ideally use the other foot for more than standing on

Can’t see us getting a transfer fee!

Come on? he's under contract, decent player, pretty sure Italian/Spanish clubs would still take a punt. Not a big fee, but we'll get something.

Sad if it ends this way, last of the Bale 7 .. there was a player there that injuries destroyed, we will need a new king of brickhousery

IF we can get a fee for him then it would be best to do so, not sure there will be many clubs ( anywhere) whoafter looking at his injury record would be willing to spend a lot for him.

The problem is that nobody else is likely to pay £70k a week for a player of only reasonable quality who is available less than half the time.

Obvious answer is 'China' but questionable whether he'd want to move there. I also dont think its impossible that a Spanish team might take him give he's an Argie. We might need to sub the wages a little bit though that would be worth doing to get the deal done. Not sure whether Levy would agree with that though - I'm a big Levy fan, but do think he holds on to players who are barely sellable too long

China has a new wage cap

Someone will take him, ex Prem especially CL experienced players always find suitors one way or another. Can’t see how a fee would be attractive to the club that have also decided he’s worth similar levels of his current Prem wage to miss half the games though.

I’ve always hoped he’s on a heavily incentivised pay as you play deal, as even his extension with us came off the back of umpteen games missed. I think we will be stuck with him until his contract ends.
