Premier League Club Accounts

"[We] are proud that, once again, last season we had more academy graduate minutes on the pitch than any other Premier League club."

Can that be true?

Yes.

Pogba 2151
Lingard 1823
Rashford 1810
McTominay 630

For comparison:

Kane 3083
Winks 772
Walker-Peters 188

Ah, I forgot Pogba. Not many clubs get to buy one of their youth products for £90m, which rather undermines Woodwood's boast.
Did not Danny Rose spend some time with our academy? 802 mins last season, so still not enough, but in trumpeting last season United are cherry-picking.

Could we also have made that boast over the past decade or so? We've had Kane, Rose, Winks, KWP, Townsend, Bentaleb, Mason, Carroll, Livermore, Caulker, Crouch, Ledley King, maybe others I can't think of right now.

How they spend their money:

An amazing 43% of the revenues is spent for Glazers to buy the club. Even with that expenditure the debts is still nearly £500m.

Amazing to see that the the debt repayment is still costing them over 500k a week on average. That’s 1/2 good players that buyout is still costing them.
And yet not enough to cover the purported weekly wage of Alexis Sanchez!

Ohhh I saw that but did not connect the dots with him leaving and the Everton stadium.
Yeah he is a Everton fan and was gonna let the council lend them the cash on very favourable rates
Their borrowing record isn’t great and they lose money so it’s the only way to fund it unless Usmianov comes clean and buys the club

Post covid you can not see councils paying out for vanity projects.

Brighton and hove has issues with a bloody great big viewing tower on the seafront called the i360 which had a lot of iffy dealings when planning permission was granted 5 years ago. The tories and greens have a lot to answer for. Was only labour down here who voted against.

It’s a loan from a Council that I though was broke.. football cronyism at its best

This two year old post just got a couple of likes.

Bizarrely, we could see the youth player they signed for a record fee go back to the club who cashed in last time at bargain basement prices in the Christman sales. Woodward is the Equalizer of world football.
