Toby Alderweireld

It's actually worse because of the unusual fixture congestion we have over the next four weeks, including some real toughies.

Having already missed Chelsea he would be unavailable for our PL fixtures against Arsenal (home), Palace (away), Liverpool (away), Leicester (home) and Wolves (away), not to mention 2 Europa Cup games and an EFL cup tie.

With luck he'll be back earlier, but four weeks means he'll be back for Fulham (home) on December 30 or maybe Leeds, Jan 2.
Doesn't he say above that he could be back for the NLD though?

That tackle on Aubameyang was phenomenally good. Superb defending from him. Along with Dier, that was another immense performance today.

Well he has proved me wrong, i thought his legs had gone last season but with our team shape now he is looking really good again. Long may it continue and i think having Dier back to his best has given us a strong spine.

He doesn't get exposed and isn't asked to push up too high (where pace would kill him)

Add in the generally not playing cup games (I really think we need to try to keep him down to one game a week where possible)

Plus the PEH/Sissoko (and yes, it current model, we need to give Sissoko credit as well) cover, the better players are showing up

Bang on, Jose has us playing deeper so Toby is not exposed as much plus the fact we now have a CM player who covers everything. Long may it continue.

I was sad when it seemed he was one the decline, as mentioned above the system suits him and he is looking very very good again.

Makes you wonder if we should have kept Jan too.

Just for the humour
