Coronavirus

It has had more money, more volunteers and less red tape. Otherwise it has met all the milestones of any vaccine other than looking at longer term side effects.

Would it also be fair to say that since the mid-2000s bird flus and what-not, Covid viruses have been both in the spotlight and the subject of plenty of research re: vaccinations?

And what about potential long term side effects. Are there any legitimate concerns?

I have read that vaccines generally have early adverse reactions so scientists are confident this is safe. So they do not seem converned.

Research and also the sheer investment to make sure this is safe and well tested this time gives me confidence

nah, we got it so quickly because of Brexit, Matt Hanrooster said so

don't remember seeing it on a bus, but that was 5 years ago

Fantastic news on the Pfizer vaccine ready to roll and

Yeah we might all going to turn into mutants - batmen or pangolin people seems highly probably in that scenario.

We’ll all be roosting together in caves and pooping on the covid ridden anti-vaxxers below who will do our monstrous bidding.

( I am being sarcastic).

seeing a lot of people saying they'll refuse to take vaccine (people on facebook in the UK, not weird twitter antivaxxers).

The more the merrier, should mean it will come round to me quicker if less people want it.

Exactly this, you are always going to get the " chicken Likens" putting forward their objections but so be it.

Good luck with that.

The Anti Vax lot are a weird bunch, but there is genuine concerns to be had, the next month should be a bombardment if info on why it’s safe.

Um the fact that it's foundations have been worked on since SARS? Also it's been tested with the same rigour as a typical flu jab. There's no reason to believe it's unsafe.

The US death rate is creeping up from 2,000 a day to over 3,000 now. Crazy that people in that country don’t care. I guess they think the vaccine will solve their problems but half the ones who are dying are probably anti vaxxers.

Australia's economic recovery surpassed expectations due to a better than expected post-covid bounce in time for the Xmas retail period. Meanwhile in Sweden;

There has been a lot of talk in the news about this first batch of vaccines for 400,000 people next week but has there been any details on when the next delivery will be? Is it a huge wait for the next batch? If so, maybe the Oxford/AZ one will be approved and available before then. Has anything been mentioned?

I saw on the news this morning that Pfizer won't be able to produce as many doses this year as they hoped (80m instead of 100m) but no news on next batch.

Just heard of the first person I know to get covid, my neighbours son, must have got it at school, his dad is a doctor and is tested regularly.
