***OMT - SPURS vs Chelsea***

His distribution was poor and he got done quite badly in the first half by the touch line by Abraham. There was an air of the Pogba one from last season about it. I can’t remember him doing anything particularly outstanding compared to 4-5 dodgy moments. On that basis, I’d say he wasn’t good and wasn’t at the standard he’s set himself recently.

Edit: there was also the Abraham chance second half where Dier was all over the place.
Wow
We play the top scorers in the league who people think are the best attacking side and they create nothing of note until a chance on 92 minutes from Rodon a error and our CB played poor!!!

the chance when Abraham went past him was classic of the game. He want outside Dier after going through him with the ball and the ball was cleared by us for a corner. He went nowhere basically as he had to go outside Dier first of all

what’s the other chance? The one form ten cross where it hit Tammys arm?

They were tougher opponents than City

They were more solid than City, but that's probably because they just move the ball around in midfield. No intensity or penetration. Rarely felt like they would open us up and didn't really put the pressure on except towards the end of each half. Quite a few sloppy passes going out for throw ins as well.

Can’t remember who crossed it but Dier got himself in a really poor position and lost Abraham and the ball and Abraham fell over and put it wide from about 6 yards. Wasn’t one of the headers.

It was handball
It was ziyech who crossed it
If he scored that it would have been var who would have cancelled

Werner looked their biggest threat but us doubling up with Sissoko and Aurier did a good job on him.

He still got lucky after getting himself in a bad position for my money. That Abraham handled it doesn’t negate Dier’s bad defending.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to be too harsh on him because he’s been brilliant this season and the end of last season but I didn’t think today was one of his better games.

As I say a clean sheet against a side that are meant to be great and flying with Hugo barely making a save has to have a great defensive pairing in front IMO

Rodon and Dier made loads of errors in possession. Yes they headed most things away well, but let's not pretend they played great.
They were playing behind a deep lying midfield compressed by Chelsea - getting it away is about the best they could have hoped for.

Thought we looked a lot more solid than previous trips to the Bridge (Poch's last win and the 2-2 draw aside). Ndombele MOTM for me. Watched it with the girlfriend and she asked why Kane was so quiet. Made me think Chelsea defended well, Son had a quiet game too which is no mean feat. Reggie was excellent, Serge/Sissoko were good, Hojberg was solid as usual, Dier and Rodon did ok but we could easily have been punished for errors. Hugo's save near the end in his bottom left corner was absolutely brilliant. Looking forward to getting through this run of tricky games but so far so good, an away point at Chelsea really is a good result.

Dier and Rodon obviously did a job as we kept a clean sheet, but Rodon could have gifted three goals in that game, and Jose called him out on two of them in his post match interview.

Not one of our team had what you could call a great game but then again none of them had poor games. It was a very good team performance at a ground where we usually lose and we got the point.

Result was excellent and I think your post holds true for the first half. But I thought we were disappointing in the second half. I was never too nervous that we’d concede because we looked solid but where we looked threatening in the first half every time we broke, I thought we were offensively poor second half.

Still better than how we usually do there. Back on top of the league. One goal conceded in 5. Unbeaten in 9. There are a lot of positives. There is still better to come from us but we’re picking up points in all sorts of ways which bodes well.

Not for me. Chelsea dominated possession but it was never backs to the wall stuff, they didn’t use the possession wisely or put any decent crosses in until the second half, which Abraham should have scored with at least one of them. Dier would get a 6 from me and Rodon the same. Possibly a 7 considering it was his full debut.

It’s possible to draw or win a game with players individually or collectively having a somewhat off day, just as it’s possible to draw or lose even when you batter the other team like we did against Saudi Sportswashing Machine. I think some are confusing the fact that we are top of the league and got a very good point away from home at a ground where are usually terrible at and assume we must have all played great today. Similar to when we actually beat them there a few years ago, didn’t think we played that well on the day, we were just clinical. We have played much better than that many times over the years at the bridge and still come away with nothing.

There’s plenty to be positive about, but I think it’s fair to say that our problem had been individual errors causing goals - we had a couple today we got away with which in the short term is great but longer term needs to be eradicated. Rodon of course was making his debut but for all the good work Dier does off the ball he’s made a few bad decisions in possession recently.

to me their chances that Abraham would never score but Kane would
It’s about quality of chance and quality of player
I actually agree with most of what your saying as to me we looked comfortable or most of the game

We defended very well as a team today it wasn’t just the CBs. I remember a brilliant clearing header from Kane.
