Lawro the Twunt says... 2020/21

After 159 games, the longest unbeaten run in English football is finally over.

Don't bother checking the record books, however, because this sequence only exists in an alternative universe based on Mark Lawrenson's Premier League predictions.

In his popular weekly feature for the BBC Sport website, Lawro had not predicted a defeat for Liverpool since May 2016 - until now.

The former Reds defender is backing Emirates Marketing Project to beat Jurgen Klopp's side 2-0 at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

West Brom v Tottenham (12:00 GMT)

Tottenham beat Brighton last week despite not being totally convincing, but I don't mind that. They are getting better as a team and, while they are doing that, they are getting positive results as well.

It is a different story with West Brom. They will need 36 points or so to stay up, but at the moment I don't know where they are going to get them from with what they have got.

The Baggies have had their moments in games, but they only seem to last 20 or 30 minutes and that is not enough to see them through.

Lawro's prediction: 0-2

Can I have a job where I basically submit the same brick/wrong answer for years and still get to keep being paid?

Don't know who's more of an idiot, him or the people who employ him.

Tottenham v Emirates Marketing Project (17:30 GMT)

Both of these teams are on a really good run so this will be a really good yardstick for where they are at.

We know the kind of form Harry Kane is in at the moment for Spurs but City are looking a lot more solid defensively, and they will have a fit Gabriel Jesus to lead their attack.

It is going to be close, but I would go with Pep Guardiola to get one over Jose Mourinho.

Lawro's prediction: 1-2

I knew coming in it would be 1-1 or 1-2. That's what he errs towards in these games rather than his default 2-0.

If you look at Lawro's table, he has Man U top of the league with a game in hand. 6 wins and a draw so far. That's some predicting...

Chelsea v Tottenham (16:30 GMT)

Spurs put on a Jose Mourinho masterclass when they beat Emirates Marketing Project last weekend.

It was a great performance and they are playing well, but I do feel with Tottenham that they have to score first for that gameplan to be successful.

Chelsea always seem to get a lot of goals - they are the highest scorers in the Premier League this season - and I am not so sure Spurs will keep them out.

Lawro's prediction: 2-1

He makes it sound like they're way out ahead. They've scored a grand total of 1 more goal than we have. And also conceded 1 more than we have.

He says "Chelsea always seem to get a lot of goals...". And awards them the highest number he can think of. We can only hope he headed too many balls in his playing days. All he does now is lick them.

Tottenham v Arsenal (16:30 GMT)

Tottenham are a better side than Arsenal, a more reliable side and they are superior defensively which is in large part down to the manager and his philosophy.

Jose Mourinho's forwards Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have also been the best two in the league bar anybody, and will give the Gunners defence a tough time assuming Kane is fit.

Arsenal don't seem to have leaders at the moment - so when the going gets tough they don't going.

Their new signing Thomas Partey looked a player in midfield, but just as he got started he got injured. They really miss him.

And in attack, since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signed his contract... has he been away? It's just that one goal since the start of November.

It's a derby with that added incentive, but without much of a crowd it'll be a strange one.

Lawro's prediction: 2-0

Crystal Palace v Tottenham (14:15 GMT)

Tottenham's approach is working well at the moment. They are solid and well drilled at the back and the attacking partnership between Harry Kane and Son Heung-min is just outstanding.

However, it will be interesting to see how Crystal Palace get on against them if they get enough of the ball. Wilfred Zaha can unhinge Spurs and Eberechi Eze looks a real talent too.

I'm still going with a Spurs win because they are battle-hardened, full of confidence and also playing so well - but Palace are dangerous because they will be able to attack them right across the pitch.

Lawro's prediction: 0-2
