Harry Kane MBE

Why?

He might not be crap but he is not very good. He is very very average. I really dont care what his nationality is.

Even by your post if you're not certain of his or anyone's crapness I'd be wary of saying it...

Jesus

2016– Brazil 41 (18)

Even in a very shallow goal focused POV, he's not average my friend, lord knows I love ya but it's not even a debate otherwise football stats would objectively be fudged if that's a barometer for "average"

Jesus is a huge drop off from Augero. A couple of times in the box he took 4 or 5 touches to control, with Augero it would be one touch and a shot 90% of the time in that situation

Was I typing in my sleep and said that Jesus is equal to or greater than Aguero? Feel free to look at the above stats for Chich and I'll keep my awareness levels of City's strikers at just about where they are thanks

Respectfully disagree. He is average, lord knows why they have stuck with him for so long.

He is a decent striker but if he was Serbian or Danisb or something similar he would not be rated so highly.

Ok dribble, ok finisher, ok pace etc etc.

Without pulling out any stats or other objective arguments (or checking whether your figures are for starts or appearances), I would expect anyone playing #9 in a top side to score 1 goal in 2.

You can disagree with respect but not with logic here, this is why we never worked out as a married couple Chich....

I’m investing time trying to convince 3 people that the GHod damn 23 year old main striker for Brazil isn’t half bad but no!!!!!!

he is brick / not very good / average / doing what’s expected of him looooool

Of course people think he’s average, you’ve all just seen him have an quiet game (which anyone who knows football was not his fault). I’m glad someone was here to advise me that Aguero is better; Jesus wept selective vision and memory rocked up in to town on this.

It must be an over rating our own and under rating others; granted Vinicius is 100 times the player Jesus is despite only real football heads having heard of him prior to the window.

All love and that but operation “put Spurspinter1 off posting here cause he’s a psycho” is working haha

You’ve added expectations due to club stature not me. Similar to the first muggins making it about Kun for no reason.

I rate Jesus as a footballer, people who don’t are those who haven’t watched him play with the required concentration or are suspect of stats that are clear as day.

So has John O’Shea... doesn’t make him any good
By the way, John oshea has won more than anyone in the city squad
And he was and is really crap

Again long term it's going to best that I back off on this one, I get the reference to a certain degree but it's not going to obscure a player's quality. These days if you say Brazil / Argentina people take it as a bad thing and choosing to not acknowledging the ability of the actual player we're discussing is what it is mate.

Going to go and get balls deep in to an argument in random about whether water is wet or not, inna bit folks :D

Summarising Points
  • Kane is class
  • Jesus is a very good footballer
  • GG isn't the best at talent spotting and if we'd signed him instead of city we'd be circle-jerking each other off about how quality he is
  • I have way too much time on my almost fully functioning hands

I get it, really. The flip side to my argument is that you don't get to play #9 for a top team unless you're pretty damn good.

I rate Jesus as an 8/10 Premier League striker, in a world where Kane and Aguero are 10/10. I don't think he's all that, but neither do I think he's rubbish.

Agree with you 97%, i do think he has a higher ceiling but only slightly :)

He really isn’t rubbish as you say
He isn’t world class either
He also has said he doesn’t want to play striker and wants to play wide forward

The issue for city's attack that game was the supply line, Mahrez and B. Silva were useless. I'd be wary of calling Brazil's no. 9 crap!

You stated the issue with City's attack is Mahrez and Silva. The two of them and the form of KDB are big factors. But the drop off from Aguero to Jesus is also a big factor too, that is where the comparison came in for an obvious reason.
