Have you seen Spotlight? It’s brilliant and a similar process
I watched this last night. It is good.

It's always somewhat disturbing when the story unfolds and all you keep thinking is 'this is all a true story'.

It's absolutely shocking what people in power can get away with and even more shocking what people in power above those people think is ok to manipulate, sweep under the carpet and cover up for the sake of 'protecting' whoever they think they f.cking are.

If someone should be nailed to a cross...it's them.

Well people is pseudo power through trust rather than choice in this case
Their pretty scummy people and the numbers are horrific aren’t they

Watched operation avalanche the other night, loved it.

Also me and the missus watched a simple favour which was a dark comedy about someone faking their death, was easy watch with a decent french sound track

It's really good. Free on Prime at the moment
I know it’s meant to be excellent and it’s in my watch list, but strangely I can’t build myself up to commit to 2 hours with subtitles.

I say strangely, as the last 10 films I’ve watched have been Kung Fu films.... with, umm, subtitles!!!

I'd been putting it off for the same reason. I don't normally have a problem with subtitles but I'd been too tired and wanted something easy when I came to watch a film.

I found it really easy viewing, although very dark. It reminded me a little of Black Mirror, in tone.

I do enjoy most Black Mirrors - think I’ll line it up for Friday night then.
I can’t tackle a film tonight, some so and so’s kept me awake talking until gone 11pm on a Sunday night!!... :D

Same. I don't think Steff appreciated the time difference

The subtitles are extremely easy going, not a chore at all. I felt the film had some promise, but the ending felt very out of kilter and juvenile, as though someone had written a good film and couldn't wrap it up very well.

I just sat through Mandy, the Nick Cage vehicle. Hallucinogenic, extreme gore, juvenile head squishing and fountains of blood. An exaggerated rip-off of Mad Max and Rambo and every silly revenge film where some ex-Forces ex-alcoholic is wronged and wreaks fearsome revenge on multiple baddies, whilst being impervious to injury and stopping off to forge a battle axe.

Utter, utter brick. But you will like it if you like that sort of thing.

Finally got around to watching Parasite last weekend. Loved it
Watched Parasite twice up cinema, firstly an Unlimited preview screening at an old Cineworld then did encore in local Odeon that had those new fangled laser projectors fitted last Christmas which really helped me appreciate the cinematography. Will have a rewatch if I spot a good OLED in Black Friday sales!
