Tanguy Ndombele

He had a couple of moments in the first half when he seemed to have the City defence all over the shop and looked in a good position to shoot but took the extra dribble. As much as I really want him a bit deeper he's showing aspects of play that playing as the tip of the three suits him equally.

I'm not sure there is a need to think about whether he's better deeper or further forward, I kinda just want him 'in there' doing his stuff....ditto lo Celso

I remember YTS saying in the previous match that we didn't have anyone who could play the "cute pass" and they were all more physical players. Just shows who is actually watching and paying attention and those who just follow their own preconceived notions.
When Kane Bale Ndombele play we truly have 3 of the best decisive (that's the important bit) passers in world football.

One thing I'm finding rather bloody annoying is all the clueless pundits who keep referring to him as part of a typical physical Mourinho midfield. It's as if they look at him see that he is black and reasonably built so must be a physical powerhouse when he's the exact bloody opposite. He's a certified baller.

Even yesterday I remember one pundit saying GLC was too lightweight for Jose hence Ndombele starting. What a load of fudging nonsense GLC is MORE physical than Ndombele.

Anyway he's doing his work quietly and constantly improving he will eventually get the plaudits he deserves.
Spot on.

Been comparing him to other players back and forth on here as I think the Dembele comparison is a bit lazy.

The player he's currently reminding me a bit of is Zidane.

I've been trying to hold it in but from the very first game for us Vs Villa I've thought that he is potentially the most talented CM in the PL and I'm really not the type to hype but his talent level is ridiculous. Fantastic dribbling coupled with fantastic vision and passing in an orthodox CM! It's such a rare combination of attributes to have at a high level in a single player. [emoji39]

He is far from orthodox, which is why it works

Hmm you're right but what I mean is that he's a player that is ostensibly a CM yet has the attributes of an ACM. Not that he is the typical up and down b2b player.
I saw him kill city in the CL playing with a DM behind him in a 4-4-2 IIRC. What he did was keep the ball. It’s simple but incredibly hard to do. Then he gained the simple yards by being able to run with it
Back then though I didn’t see a passing range which almost feels like it’s come form nowhere
It’s why he works at the top of the midfield 3
Now he is also tackling and appears to be enjoying that side of the game it’s a step up
Be really interesting to see what Chelsea try to do to stop him on Sunday

I reckon they'll have Kante on him like a rash. Which just means more space for Kane to drop between the lines.
