Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

It seems so unfair to pick just one player....But fuuuuck, this guy just absolutely loves chewing through hard work in midfield. It's a pleasure to behold.

He is. I do worry that an injury to him screws us up. Skipp can be is understudy next year, but think we need to find a new Sissoko who is a bit better on the ball

People forget this guy was the youngest ever debutant for Bayern Munich at 17. He grew up as a pro around serial winners and was touted as captain there one day.

No surprise he brings the mentality he does. Wonderful player.

Think that was his best game for us so far.

Him and Reguilon getting into serious problems almost causing a big chance for City ,only for us to straight up and make it 2-0, the only questionable moment I remember. Worked out well though.

All around immense though.

Tough call. With that restriction, you've limited us to choosing from the tiny pool of everyone who has legs.

We definitely had a good window, but apparently Chelsea and Liverpool and possibly Arsenal and ManU did better according to the "pundits".
Well...
Pool brought one first team player and he is quality so maybe they did
Chelsea just brought anyone available with a “big rep”. I don’t think they did that well IMO
Arsenal and United both brought decent players but didn’t fix the gaps
We fixed our weaknesses at full back and CM and added so many attacking options too

Another great game from him, i have said this before but he is probably our best signing for a while. We have signed bigger named players for sure but he is one who fills a very big hole in our CM. A position we have been so poor in for a while.

They may have had bigger names, but how many were worth more on the Scrabble board?

Chelsea bought well and will likely end up challenging for the title - they spent more than us on bigger named talent but they have improved in several positions what was already a strong team (whereas we were a team with a lot of holes in need of a rebuild and took bigger strides, whilst soending considerably less) The only question with them now is whether Lampard is the man to get the best out of the players they have.

Edit: at this stage you also have to look at the improvement in Villa and consider their business in the summer as being pivotal in that also
