Harry Kane MBE

Oh, FFS. Kane is arguably one of the top 3 forwards in world football, a proud Englishman, and motivated by goal-scoring records. He wants to play. The flip side of having superstar players is that they're going to play international football.

Kane played 90 minutes on Sunday in a vaguely important match (fair enough), then 76 minutes today in a meaningless one. Playing again on Saturday isn't ideal, but it's no worse than the usual weekly league/cup/EL schedule. It's not like Wembley is far away, either.

I'm not happy about it, and I'll be pretty narked if Kane pulls a muscle on Saturday, but I've got to accept it.

Lamela doesn't.

Said to my mates in our little WhatsApp group, I wouldn’t swap him for any player in the world right now, any position. That basically makes him the best player in the world doesn’t it?
IMO of course!

Imagine that 20 years ago in the Graham years!

Have you forgotten Andy Booth?

He was incredible under Poch but Mourinho has added a couple of strings to his bow and really seems to be getting the absolute best out of him. Tremendous player and tremendous pro.
He's getting the best out of all the options, so allowing Kane to do more.
A few years ago many of us (, especially me) bemoaned
I. That Kane was trying to do too much and was in danger of the Rooney path and
II. He wasn't scoring enough

I actually think he outgrew Poch and needed a Mourinho type.

He's no Jason Dozell

In 91 Gazza almost drove us to the Cup final on his own.

I know he is not doing it on his own, but I am starting to get the feeling Kane is driving us to something similar 30 years on
