OMT Spurs vs Emirates Marketing Project

Playing Son on the right was an interesting choice. We've seen it a little bit recently but I suspect that it caught City by surprise
Didn't see it coming, but excellent decision.

Walker is outstanding one vs. one defensively and his recovery speed gets him and City out of so much trouble down that side.

Obviously we can never know, but I don't think that goal today is likely at all coming down the other flank.

Then have Bergwijn playing a rather different role down the other side.

Excellent decisions.

I think the defensive traits shown today reminded me of 2008 when we had woody and ledders - the way we controlled the games in the semi and final v the scum and chavs, the whole team played immense.

Now, Mou to work more magic as Toby is probably going to be out injured for a while...

4-6 weeks if it's a fairly serious groin strain?

Well, strap me down and call me Linda!

I'm calling it right now, damn my eyes if I'll wait! We're going to win the league! (Sure, Trump is going to stage a coup in the states, start world war III and tinkle on our celebrations, but what the heck...)

I cannot express how impressed I was with that performance. Sure, anyone who look at the "basic" figures will say that this was a smash-and-run-steal, but looking behind the numbers I'd say that the only real clear-cut chances in that game were ours, and we scored on both. We also had the most beautiful attack of the game (Kanes offside-goal).

Just about all the City-chances were half-chances at best. True, the best version of this City-team hardly needed more than half-chances to score, but this year they've failed to do so on a regular basis.

This was a perfect gameplan. Stay compact, stay narrow. Hit them with pace. Also, notice how we've started to roll the ball to our defenders again versus the best teams, inviting them on before we play out one-two-combinations? And the midfield-players invite pressure before they either play the ball, or twist away? Almost as we did under Pochettino at his best, with Dembele and Eriksen. But with a tad more security...

Ok, I might be a bit up on a cloud right now, carried away a bit. But I don't care. :)

Walker has been caught out a lot this season through his weak defensive discipline
Look where he was today for our second
Bergwein ran him ragged

Jose has definately improved the players..I was criticising Jose a couple of games ago, because off his wrong substitutes..

Also, I had written Dire off ..now look at him..right back on form!

If we keep this teamwork up maybe we can win something.

2 or 3 cup finals coming up now. Hope I'm not getting carried away too much..lol.

CoySpurs.......

Reggie. You said something along the lines he was our weakness defensively.

Apart from one slip up I thought he was excellent today, certainly prefer him to Davies.
He was our weakest defender today
A few time she made poor calls after winning the ball and losing it
He needs to learn still that in this league you don’t get time
Don’t think for one second I don’t rate him though. He is comfortably in the top 2 in the league already but he can be better

Let's see where we are at the turn of the year. I think that we'll finish second to Liverpool but we are certainly contenders

They are the yardstick. A team that finishes above Liverpool and City will be Champions. That said if Leciester continue to get a penalty a game, they will be in the mix too....

Same for me. I don’t see us winning the title but I think we will finish closer in points than we were at any point under Poch.
