Harry Kane MBE

Kane is far to honest.
Has he ever spoken about strikers he respects and admires from the past? Maybe we can drag one of them out to talk some sense into him about how short professional careers are.

I don't ever want to hear him bitch about not winning trophies whilst he continues in failing to optimise his fitness and minimise his injury risk.

Actually properly fcuked off by this. It is also way I think kane cares more about England than he does spurs. Reminds me of Gerard and Lampard and it is why I am sure England will never win anything.

Really don't care if England never win anything but his main focus should be spurs, England for 3 weeks every other summer

Extremely odd decision when southgate knows not only is this game tonight meaningless but he will play 90 mins on saturday. Surely he wants him fit and firing for next summer but instead he risks serious injury for nothing.

When he starts on saturday now its going to be like we have just had him play a europa game just a couple of days before.

Incredible thing to do with players going down like flies at the moment. If sterling starts on saturday after being pulled out of the england squad the other day then we need to change our approach to when the england games are meaningless like tonights is.

Agreed. You watch Sterling start on Saturday. Nailed on.

Southgate doesn’t care one bit about Saturday and why would he...
his job, and the only way he stays employed is all about the England team
The issue is we know lot and lots of players want to play every game possible and that’s where the change needs to come. Players have to recognise their own limitations too

Southgate is the manager and he needs to make these decisions not the players. And it is in southgates interest to leave him out tonight as he knows he has a massive game in just a couple of days that he will likely play 90 minutes in. He needs kane to be firing in the summer and playing him tonight in a meaningless game, considering the context of what kane has coming up in the immediate future and that he just played the other day, risks things like overdoing it and tearing another muscle.

It is beyond ridiculous and incredibly naive from this goddamn idiot to play kane tonight.

Wales are 1-0 up against 10 men in what is an important game for them so fair enough Bale is starting. But considering they just need to avoid defeat, hopefully Bale will be withdrawn after something like 60 mins especially as he played 90 mins the other day.

Unless Kane comes off after an hour I think we have little choice but to leave him out on saturday. He probably played 90 mins the other day against belgium and if he plays most of the game tonight I think it would be madness to start him in just a couple of days against Emirates Marketing Project. Goat head might not give a damn about his wellbeing but we certainly do and if we play him he will be knackered and fatigued and that is when hamstrings and the like get pulled and torn.

We’ll have to go with son, bale and lucas perhaps.

Don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing that you've somehow got me, legohamster and Chich liking the same post....Strange times we live in.

Finally taken off but these exertions are too much - 90 minutes against belgium, few days later 75 minutes, few days later Emirates Marketing Project - for him to start on saturday.

Too risky to send out a fatigued player so will have to be on the bench now thanks to goat head.

You think Kane will start the City game on the bench?

He obviously cares about playing for England for sure, but his priority has to be his employers who pay his wages. I hope Jose points this out to him.

He needs to point it out to goat head.

Jose will now need to weigh the considerable risks that come with playing Kane yet again in a few days.

Those who think there is nothing to see hear will be saying very different things if he tears his hamstring on saturday and with the amount of football he would have played in a short time, that is a distinct possibility.

He'll definitely start on Sat. Dissapointed he played in a dead rubber this evening

He can sit on the bench on thurs

Oh, FFS. Kane is arguably one of the top 3 forwards in world football, a proud Englishman, and motivated by goal-scoring records. He wants to play. The flip side of having superstar players is that they're going to play international football.

Kane played 90 minutes on Sunday in a vaguely important match (fair enough), then 76 minutes today in a meaningless one. Playing again on Saturday isn't ideal, but it's no worse than the usual weekly league/cup/EL schedule. It's not like Wembley is far away, either.

I'm not happy about it, and I'll be pretty narked if Kane pulls a muscle on Saturday, but I've got to accept it.
