Giovani Lo Celso

i read that more as Jose saying there is more to come from him as he has had no pre season so he was great on the ball but not up to his usual standards yet off the ball. Mind you sky sports sensationalised that statement naturally.
That and Mourinho doing the thing of adding criticism to praise when someone have done well. It's not exactly rocket science, I think it's good though.

Agree with you

The Mail reporting that "Tottenham boss tears into Giovani Lo Celso as he criticises his fitness and reveals he 'didn't train' in lockdown". It's incredible when you read the actual quotes which don't reflect any level of tearing into Lo Celso and says he couldn't train in lockdown (rather than didn't train). Shows how easily people can be manipulated.

GLC is such a quality player. I really think he's going to have a massive role this season and get some credit that he deserves. If Jordan Henderson can win a PL, CL and get Football Writers' Player of the Year, then Lo Celso should get all that plus the Presidency of the US.

I agree, just watched the game again and he really is a very talented player. His awareness and movement off the ball is first class and once he gets his fitness levels up he will be a star for sure.

I have no preference between Ndombele and Lo Celso at present. With Sissoko doing a lot of defensive work it might be either/or between them for a bit longer.

I can see them both playing. They can both play as a number 10 or deeper as the second pivot. Alternating when needed

On current form Ndombele is the obvious choice.

Lo Celso getting back to his best from last season makes it closer, I'd still pick Ndombele.

Getting the two of them fit and firing on the pitch at the same time could be a real difference maker this season though.

Lo Celso isn’t even close to the level Ndombele is playing at. Also that 80th minute miss from two yards against West Brom could have cost us two points, awful finish.

Slightly different players, and tbh Lo Celso has more of a history of carrying the attacking effectiveness of a whole team (compared to Ndombele who is great at dribbling and breaking a press, but has had less time 'at the top' as it were..)

We are incredibly blessed to have them both!

I would also love to see them both performing at the top of their game but trust Jose knows how to get that out of them.

I actually prefer both or Lo Celso if I had to pick one. Gives a bit more in other areas and has played in France and Spain.
