I've refused handouts before. I'll be fudged if I'm leaving a tax bill for items on which I've already paid tax though - that's bulbrick.

Just what I like really. As I said earlier, I'm not interested in buying new.
I'd really like a couple of Patek Phillipes but whilst I'm still paying a mortgage they're out of my price range.
The bulk will be much cheaper than that though - special edition Tags, an Omega, lower end IWC.

Not sure I would go as many as 10 (even though I'm sure I could name 10 I like), my current thoughts are
- Bremont as my go to top end
- A good diver (haven't quite figured out which one yet)
- A GPS/Atomic that switches time/zones automatically (I travel a bit for work and resetting time is a pia), nothing really grabs me on the offerings available right this moment
- The odd watch that just grabs me (doesn't have to be expensive), right now I like this
My day to day watch is an Android watch - does the job perfectly.
I don't mind having more watches than is sensible as I see it as a good way of avoiding IHT. Of all the nice things to buy (that don't need to be on a will) watches and wine tend to keep their value best.
Wine doesn't keep its value whilst you enjoy it so that leaves watches.
Hmmm ... should think about the Android option for travel ... never looked down that route as most people go Apple (not an Apple guy)
Hahaha, know what you mean re the wine, have a bottle or two getting to drinking age.

Inheritance tax, like being taxed on your pension is one thing I do not understand, I have already paid tax why am I paying it again. It is all right we pay tax but not twice.
I worked hard all my life I earned my money and paid tax(on most of it) who I decide to leave it to is my business.

Anyone into automatic watches at all? I had a few Seiko 5s but I’ve recently gone up a level and picked a couple of used ones I’ve been after for a while recently, a vintage Seiko and a Frédérique Constant dress watch that needs the glass repairing (which brought it into my price range!).

Yes I think equivalent glass will cost around 150 which I still think is a good price but these are still retailing at around 1600 so I’m pleased as I was expecting to pay around 800-1000 for a second hand one.

i have an everyday watch that automatically updates to the second from somewhere in Colorado because I'm a punctual person and the sports events I bet on start at a certain time too
