Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

To some extent, yes.

Only really in terms of one player (Sissoko) in terms of player selection.

We're very good attacking on the break, we're very good when we find space in behind. When those aren't possible we struggle quite a bit more. Need to keep developing our play, but developing that attacking play against well organised hard working teams is one of the hardest things in football. It will take time if it happens. The potential is there. More to come from quite a lot of our players and we're yet to see Ndombele and Lo Celso together for any meaningful time at least.

WBA and Brighton are not particularly well organised sides defensively yet we struggled to create chances against them - away to Burnley i can forgive as a one off but a run of 3 games like that on top of what we saw last season makes me wonder if we just had a run of good fortune earlier with Son and Kane hitting it off so well. 8 games in and 5 of which have seen us look pretty toothless truth be told - i don't think there's anything wrong in expecting to see more than that with our options

Think fixture pile up can account for some of that.
Also brighton barely ever get beat by more then a goal and as someone who watches them regularly I can tell you they are very well organised.

Well organised and hard to beat is pretty much the description of Burnley and west brom have an ex defender as manager and they are fighting for their lives.

Start of the season goals were flying in in all games. Now they are drying up for all teams not just us.

That’s the best West Brom have played all season today (according to the sky commentator) and that includes the game where they were 3 nil up vs Chelsea
Brighton looked pretty but created nothing and we did
Burnley... is Burnley. You know what you get

Both West Brom and Brighton have poor goals conceded numbers and Burnley, despite their reputation are not far behind this season. We should be doing better in these games, not sure why people are intent on making excuses.

If we continue to create little in games against poor sides we will start to drop points - we nearly fell behind before we scored this afternoon and could have easily spent the last few minutes chasing a point - I'm not going to ignore a problem because we're scraping results, we have some of the best attcking players in the league and some serious depth in this area, it's not too much to expect more here.

Actually yeah you are right you convinced me. Let's sack Mourinho and bring back Poch.

We haven’t looked like conceding in any of the three games though. The goal that Brighton got shouldn’t have stood and the only other major chance I remember was the one Harry cleared off the line v Burnley. We’ve been solid defensively against admittedly poor opposition.

True, we should be doing better going forward. It seems we’re very reliant on the counter or a bit of individual brilliance. But I think we’ll look better against the better sides because we’ll have more space to play in.

I think we’re also underplaying the fact Jose has to bed in 6 or 7 players. No matter how good they are, that’s not easy.

Im very happy so far. Room for improvement for sure and a big run of games coming up but we’re in good shape.

Fair point regarding bedding in players, kinda forgotten that as they are seemed to hit the ground running initially.

I think we'll look better attack wise in the upcoming run of games too as we will be afforded more space to play in.
