Exactly this. Then it’ll be a question of whether we can defend as well as we have in recent weeks. If we can, we will pick up a lot of important points.

Agree. Most of the lesser teams have learned we are not the best at breaking teams down, let us have the possession and put 10 men behind the ball we tend to struggle.
Go toe to toe and push up and we seem to be far better

I think the Utd result needs perspective. They had a man off for over half the game and let themselves fall apart.

The truth is this side is going to find it easier not playing well drilled defensive sides. We will look better against sides with equal ambition.

And I stand by my tiredness comments. Whether we have a big squad or not, Sonny in particular looked knackered (also in the middle of one of his lull spells) and Kane too. It is the meteorology which got us there today. Let's at least recognize and celebrate that...

it was already 4-1 when they got the red card wasn’t it?

Phew.

They all count, but once again, we don't look fluid at all. And it's interesting how much more fluid we looked when Sissoko went off, although truth be told, West Brom were flagging by that point and that also played its part.

Good grinding out of the win, excellent game management for the final five minutes, Vinicus' needless giveaway at the end notwithstanding.

Top now, for a couple of hours. Maybe, heading into this difficult run that awaits us after the break, that will be just what the team needs. Also apparently first time we've been top of the league for six years, a stat that is utterly shocking in and of itself - we never led the league at any point under Poch? Christ.

We’ve taken 6 points from Burnley and WBA away, when was the last time did that in a season?

Sissoko kills everything, he’s not even that great defensively.

First time Tottenham have been top of the Premier League since August 2014!!
Can someone kind and clever work out when and how long we've been top each time?
E.g. 2 hours in 2018 after 2 games (which doesn't really count)
2 days in 2016
2 days in 1987
Or whatever the truth is.......

Thing is though we won. I thought Sissoko was pants on the ball but we needed to fight today and I'll bet that is why he was there!

I don’t recall them getting any breaks always, but I didn’t see all of it.

He’s there to stop football happening, we need that.

We did and I take that but the reason we needed the fight is because we give up the ball to easily with Sissoko in the side, and I love Sissoko but there is a place for him in the squad just for me its not in games against WBA where the quality should tell. Thats what I mean by it being counter productive, its almost like you need Sissoko because Sissoko is playing haha
