Toby Alderweireld

He's a good defender. But not the leader or organiser at the back we needed on Sunday for the last 15 minutes to steady the ship.
I don’t really think it was anything to do with leadership or defensive organisation.....

1. Sissoko needless freeKick and then not challenging for a header despite being well positioned.
2. Moura not tracking a runner
3. Free kick that never was, where we defended the first ball then were first to the second ball, only for a bad touch from Winks and a worldie from Lanzini.

What we did lack though was clever time wasting.

I’ve gone back to watch the goals (too see who was free from West Ham for that first goal), and winks literally is stretching to get to the ball first after Kane’s header. I genuinely dont think anyone would have done any different. He was also the only man in the wall hence why he was nearest (not that the wall there makes a difference)

It is a worry as Toby and Dier seemed to be forming a good pairing.

Yep, just our luck again as they were really gelling. Alderweireld seemed to helping Dier really gain some form back.

Not sure what will be the best course of action now, Dier and Sanchez for the weekend, Davies and Rodon for Europa with their Welsh connection maybe

Rodon cant play in the EL, so more like Dier/Rodon in the league, and Sanchez/Davies in the EL. Cirkin might get a couple EL games perhaps

Just read that in another thread. Didnt realise that. Here's hoping Rodon is the real deal. Big tests for him in the next month

We could do with a couple of 'free' games in the EL so Jose could try combinations without consequences.

That looks impossible though with 3 teams on 6 PTS :(
