This. It's the way THEY play that makes other teams look poor and struggle. They're incredibly good at making other teams bad. They're a really difficult team to face.
True, although our passing accuracy and lack of movement up front didn't do us any favours for large portions of the game either.

What sucks is that we'd be comfortably first if we didn't throw away two wins in the 95th minute (I mean, come on, these happen once every two seasons, not twice in 2 weeks). Anyhow, onwards and upwards.

Yeah, but it's still very early days, so just get those silly ones out of the way early and hopefully it can set the tone for how we manage late game leads onwards.

A good leveller for us, not all teams are going to give Son the space to operate in others have.

A good one for the mentality with keeping a clean sheet and seeing a tight game out, kudos Hugo for the corner catches. Dier blotted his copy book with a needlessly poor decision that he got away with.

full backs poor, Lamela as much as I derided the decision to being him on did give them something to think about where Moura had been anonymous.
Thought ndombele was excellent, making great progress and look forward to seeing him and GLC together in games like this as both can break the lines.

Kane is something else, one off the line, Assist out of nothing the block for the long ball near the end and seeing what it meant to him was great to see.

Doherty was poor tonight

He was. Improved a bit as the game went on but was poor overall. Looks a bit like he’s struggling with the level of club he’s joined to me.

That said, as poor as he was, he didn’t have a brainfart that left us badly exposed as Aurier tends to do no matter how well he plays.

We were so poor tonight, played right into their hands.
That was like 90s Wimbledon kick and rush and fight and elbow in the cheek and nut and rush and gain yards like a rugby team.

Urgh, get them relegated.

We should have played neat intricate football, they would never cope with that shock to the system.

Did we only have one effort on target?

His corner, his pass that set up chance that led to the corner.

Lamela is our Prince of the Dark Arts. That tackle at the end, oh yes, have a bit of that Burnley, how do YOU like it? And he is a master at helping a team see a game out.
Lloris got a clean sheet tonight, made some good claims at those late corners, he just needs to time-waste a bit more in these type of games late on. Hold onto the ball for the maximum, 30 seconds with every goalkick, because I guarantee, your Fosters,Schmeichels,Popes, etc; they would do it... nailed on

Ndombele was decent enough for 60 mins, maybe come 2025 he will manage 90 mins

I think he was playable in that area right in front of Son and Kane so many times, but never received the ball because it looked a bit too tight. I reckon he could've done something useful with the ball in that hole if he had gotten it though. I think we need to look to just play him more risky passes when he's in that zone, he's capable of doing something useful with it, regardless of the pressure he's up against.

MOTM - Kane for me.

I thought Sissoko did what Sissoko does tonight and therefore played well though
Totally.
Sissoko will not jump for a header though will he? He must be 6' 1" or more and yet gets beaten in the air virtually every time.

I’d argue he is used to having a winger in front of him who plays wide as he cuts in
Moura doenst really play with any clear style and does cut in a lot
No costly defensive error is key

Ndombele looked a lot more lively which was great to see. Moura was poor, Dier average, Davies a mixed bag and the rest decent to good. Kane motm.

What stood out for me
A genuine plan on how to defend free kicks
Step out further and defend flatter
Not sure it’s the right tactic but it’s a genuine plan
