The Official 2020/21 Premier League Thread

From what I’ve seen of both sides there mid table fodder
I hope Arteta sticks with the 3-4-3 formation. You need a very specific type of players to make that formation work, and Arse certainly haven't got those.
You often end up with 6-7 "defensive" players + the GK, and only 3-4 offensive players. 3 CB's, a right back and a left back as wing backs, and a defensive midfielder.
Also they insist on playing out from the back, and making at least 40 passes before they even think about attacking. Makes them pretty easy to defend against, and they simply can't create anything from open play.

Their threat yesterday was from the full backs which means the midfield is as you say, just defending
Partey was going to change that for them but he was playing with Koke and Saul previous who both have many strings to their game. Their current set up is quote flaccid and slow

Doesn't change anything.
And you can't infer 'most' from that one stat!
No but when they choose a stat of his goals against sides that have possession and he plays for a side that struggles with possession there is a natural tendency to consider highlight that his goals in those games are counter attacking goals
If you actually look at the games they lost this season for example you will see it’s games where they had the ball

I can't believe we pay less than 10 quid a month to watch every EPL game, live, on demand, highlights, mini match whatever you want. Its like netflix for football. Includes Champions League, Europa etc etc. Rip off Britain at its worst.

and people will continue not to buy the games !!

Or Jamie has scored Most of his goals when counter attacking
Vardy is an excellent player, I have always found it a bit strange that fans of lots of teams other than Leicester don't like to give him that credit.

When Arsenal tried to buy him after Leicester had won the league I was really pleased when Vardy decided to stay at Leicester. He would've improved Arsenal by a decent margin.

Vardy is an excellent counter attacking player. He plays on the shoulder of the last man and scores loads of goals that way (think he has over a 100 now)
He would have suited arsenal in the same way that Ian Wright did. His game suits certain teams. Not possession based teams though due to the speed Of attack needed for his effectiveness to show through
That doesn’t make him an inferior player. That makes him a player that suits a certain set up. It’s why he struggled when they changed manager to the French guy

I think that is a lazy, stereotypical view just because he does well at Leicester. He has great movement, good touch, good awareness and is a very good finisher. I think he would score goals in any team.
