I looked at the classic car version a few years ago, to do the whole event the entry fee was £50k and if you didn't have an interesting enough car you would get refused.

Last week I went to my local VW dealer and tested both the I.D 3 and I.D 4. VW are really on to something there! Best electric cars I've driven (except my e-tron). But considering the id3 is almost half the price of the e-tron, it's a bargain! Really spacious inside, probably almost as big as a Passat inside, and it was really comfortable! They've managed to keep the noise REALLY low, even at high speeds and on poor surfaces! I've driven several Teslas, and the noise in those is horrible once you get to highway speeds.
I've never thought head-up display would be something I would need/want, but it's amazing! You could get almost any info displayed right in front of you, so you don't have to take your eyes away from the road. I was really impressed. Drove like a train, very stable, and everything felt tight and of high quality. I drove about 200 km in the id3 with about 50/50 city and highway driving, and had 50% battery left when I returned it, so their estimate of 385km on the small battery pack seems very realistic. Dealer said the drove over 400km before charging when they drove it up here from Oslo.

I'm guessing the showroom passed on my details but fudge, £50k for a jolly.

Still going to do that drive to the south of France and across to Monaco but I think I'll book it myself.

Might tag along on the back of the convoy just to fudge with them.

The drive to Monoco is beautiful, do it in a convertible if you can, I Didn't but wish I did. Dont forget to laugh at the people posing outside the casino in front of other people's cars, genuinely hilarious

For that money get a couple of mates, hire 2 escorts (if you have room in the back) 1 if not [emoji23] and plan your own route!

No worries. When are we going on this trip!?

Been a frustrating summer. I didn't get a chance to get out in the poker. It will be getting a once-over over the winter, ready for next year.

I've always wanted to put a car on the ferry to northern Spain. Avoids all the dull motorways and from there you could drive up into France or go south, even into Morocco if you were feeling adventurous. I have serious wanderlust but have resolved to get my head down, work hard, and touch wood everyone can live again next year.

If you were brave, going away now could be awesome. Empty hotels etc.

We were supposed to go on a motorbike trip to Spain this year and we have rebooked it for April next year (fingers crossed)

But I’m up for a little GG road trip around the Pico’s later next year

Whilst I have rear seats, I'm not sure the escorts would be up to much by the end of that length of drive.

Could fold the rear seats down and put them in the boot, I suppose.
