if it's Deeney, its not like he's an inferior option to the other names mentioned, and I assume he'd be dirt cheap in comparison

I'd much rather him than Benteke or King

There was talk of a loan earlier in the summer. He's in the final year of his contract.

124 goals in 369 games. He's 32. Just no, on every level. He's a brick fudging clogger.

yeah, but everyone else we've been linked with is a really brick fudging clogger and would cost more

and in all likelihood, an additional CF will barely play, they will be 4th on the depth chart at best, behind Bale, Kane and Son

I see no sense in spending real money on another CF for this squad

We need the right character as a back-up CF, in addition to right style. They need to be able to get match sharp quickly after a run of not playing, not get ****** off from not playing, not be disruptive etc. I'm not sure that Deeney is the non-disruptive type character is he?

I could see the back-up CF getting say 10-12 start or so this season (half the EL group games, couple FA cup games, a few if Kane has a knock etc) and then sub appearances so they need to be reasonable quality - no worse than Llorente say - and equally any better than that wouldnt want to come to Spurs to start 10-12 games this season

You are sniggering at a 1 in 3 back up striker?
No more football manager for you.

He's not my first, second or third choice - but he'd be a very useful option and would help add bstd value to those that need it in training.

Remember Died talking about how important Hart and Gazza are because they save lots of penalties in training....last night our penalties were exceptional.

Deeney would help the defence toughen up too

Teach them how to get arrested for assault.
If you want to go down that road - teach them mistakes happen and you have accept responsibility for and keep moving forwards.
He served his time.

I came remember what mourinhos quote was, but it was something about "forget you mistake, focus on the next phase"
