She hasnt played many games in her 12 year career. Do the women play far less games then the men?

Can anyone answer this? she hasn't managed over 20 games a season o_O

Interesting interview, the move seems pretty much as last minute as it could have been but hope it raises the bar for our ladies' team.

There are generally fewer teams in women's leagues, but they play a ridiculous amount of international matches. Probably because there's more interest and consequently more money there. She has 169 caps.

Nice :D

More int appearances makes a lot of sense, the USA ladies team have been irritatingly good for a long time. However for the game in general domestically it doesn't seem the most rewarding as a fan if one of the stars of the game plays for you 8 times a season.

The game against Emirates Marketing Project on Sunday is on being shown live on the iPlayer.

Glad to hear it, will be keeping an eye on the progress of the team and it's nice to catch the odd game given we can't be there in person.

Maybe it's just the effects of a few beers but seeing an interview posted on the beeb with Morgan recently I can't help but find it some of it a bit odd, but that may come down to my ignorance of the women's game but also a tad of inflexibility in regards to the differences. I'm fully aware of how the US female team have been key players throughout development and with that comes certain differences in mentality but sometimes a little self awareness to be honest.

There's some interesting details but this line in bold -

Morgan, who has scored 107 goals in 169 international appearances for the USA, says she had chance to see Tottenham's facilities before last year's World Cup and was "really impressed" by what she saw.

"I became a fan of the men's team at that point," she said.

"When I started really considering joining, having a discussion with the head coaches and seeing their passion for the growth of this club, it obviously sparked a level of excitement that made me want to be a part of something like this."

Morgan is joined by her daughter and mother-in-law in London while her husband - also a footballer - remains in America.

Maybe it's semantics but you don't become a fan of a team when you're 30 years plus, you can become a boyhood (girlhood?) fan of any club if it suits you financially (fairplay Robbie!) but whilst it's a positive thing that she follows the progress of the club it just sits a bit off with me.

Also as I accidently c and p'd it in to the article, I don't want to be questioning anyone's life choices but coming here with the baby and her fella staying back in the states, hope that's the right decision. Key thing is really I hope she is banging in goals for Spurs asap as quite frankly we've been proper dogbrick the last couple of times I've seen us but there's plenty of promising signs given where we were.

Also this following.... seeing their passion for the growth of this club, it obviously sparked a level of excitement that made me want to be a part of something like this."

Not just glory hunting, but a meaningful journey.

Maybe next season for the title then?

No sign of Morgan, did she pick up an injury cause I thought she was on the bench for the FA cup game..
