Dele Alli

Watched the episode yesterday were dele and Dier had a bust in the dressing room.

Jose sat down next to dele, that looked like support to me.
Name names Dier kept saying, well this for me is part of our problem, they are all to pally and won't call each out.
Is Jose trying to provoke dele into letting loose, stirring them all up.
I hope so, because they need some fire in their bellies.

Not really. Harry came through the youth system, Dele didnt. Harry is dedicated, works bloody hard and is the model professional. Dele likes to be on the front pages as much as the back pages.

If we could get £50m for him from someone like PSG and then sepnt £30m on a top young CB and £20m on a CF, we'd be a much stronger position in my view

Does he really?

In the last 10 - 12 months? I know lock down happened and all but you can choose to not see the wood through the trees if you choose bud!

He was excellent in Mourinho's first month but has gone back to his pre-Mourinho form since.

I think that he's a great player but he doesn't create much for others. I think that it is no coincidence that his drop in form coincided with Eriksen's. Dropping him for Ndombele should mean that the team creates more chances.

Dele needs to respond to this and make it impossible for Mourinho not to select him. He's good enough, it's whether he has it in his head.

Calm down that's not my point.

You're reasoning why he's left out, I'm just saying just about everyone falls into that category.

I'm indifferent on Dele. Pragmatically the way we could be heading formation wise, it's hard to see him fitting in. And furthermore his very best position is quite niche.

I'd ask anyone who thinks it's controversial to tell me the last time he had a match defining performance. No bench is harsh but Stevie 400% but maybe even Lamela is outperforming him in training and is more likely to provide. Ooooor there's something sly or an injury kept on the absolute DL but who knows...

Hope he can get back in to what he does well sharpish.

Do you have info on him being dropped based on Lamela in training?

So I prefer to stick to what we do know, based on last season he had a spate of good performances to which even Jose had to praise him because of the Alli brother comments. So he has played well despite the myths.

In the time Alli has had this so called demise who else has really put in week in week out consistent performances? The fact the team has been in a near 2 year slump is not down to him, its been team wide, so for people to single out Alli is misguided in my mind. In the Prem he is involved in goals in over half the games he plays in, thats nowhere near a spent force.

Again last week was the best out of the front 3 and was pulled out to Jose admission it did not work, so based on what we know over theories leaving him out today for the second squad looks odd and harsh.

And until we know the facts that is how it is going to look regardless of if buts and maybes

Alli Prem Stats

Appearances 157
Goals 50
Assists 33

If that was a CV with no name of a talent in Spain or Germany people would be saying sign him in the transfer thread. If the club force this lad out rather than tapping into him to get the very best out then its going to be a massive loss to the club in my opinion.

He is far from the only player at Spurs whose form has tailed off in the last year and he has double the talent of many of the others that have too.

When you consider he's been out of position and out of form for a couple of seasons those numbers are even more impressive and show the level of player he can be.

And I think considering the teams regression over the past year and fact up until today we are still not pulling up trees its harsh that he seems to be singled out slightly.

As for fans dictating who you can support like its detrimental to the support of the team like we are 12 and cant make up our own minds, grow up

If he ain't in the managers plans and it's the only way we can fund a rebuild then it needs to happen i suppose.

If we're just selling him cos Mou don't like him then it's a mistake from the clubs perspective

I was calm before watching this dross haha

Yeah, I want to see him succeed but if he goes elsewhere I'm not going to need a tiny violin concierto.

The info I have is that Lamela is on the bench, Alli is not and he is confirmed as not injured. That's kind of how football works I think!

Lloris since Jose has put in week in week out, Sanchez is a dark horse too and I can name others but it's not going to go anywhere is it? I'm not anti Dele, but it's starting to get a bit nostalgic talking about his best games. When a new manager comes in it's not guaranteed that they'll love everyone at the club and the onus is entirely on Dele to convince him otherwise.

Yeh well based on todays performance, that in the week and last week I think you are treading a dangerous line if you believe Alli is the issue.

Where did I say he was? Literally, can you tell me when have I given that indication?

The training = selection equation is more basic than common sense and it's very rare that it isn't a universally applied logic.

Indicating that he has not played well in games when he has been far from the worse points in that direction.

Not sure what to say mate, I can't be aware of all of the things you've misread so it's hard to have a reasoned debate, or at least a productive one.

Like I say, I'd rather see him succeed but it doesn't look likely, let's face it apart from his little resurgence when Jose came he's in the mix for 10% "worse" (as you stated, not me) players over the last few seasons considering the projected rise.
